Cuisinart

---

Patty of Culpeper VA (03/09/09)
I bought the Cuisinart coffee pot with the carafe. It worked for 2 yrs then the plastic arm that holds the filter on just came off. I sent it back (paying the 20 to & from shipping) was sent a new one but it only lasted 1 year. I called Cuisinart and was told the waranty was still good and they would send me a new one. I waited 2 weeks and when no coffee pot showed up I called them. This time they said no, we are sorry but the waranty goes back to the origional coffee pot and it is expired.

I contacted the Better Business Bureau but of course Cuisinart is NOT a member (go figure!) They have 4 more days to respond but I'm guessing they will not. Its obvious...they don't care...so the only thing we can do is NOT BUY their products and tell everyone you know not to buy anything Cuisinart. If enough people do this then maybe they will learn.

A Hard Lesson Learned

I was making soup and but boiling chicken broth into the blender. I followed the directions on the insert that went with the Cuisinart SmartPower Duet Blender/Food Processor about dealing with hot liquids. Though I released the steam and held the top on extremely tight, the lid blew off with incredible force. The boiling liquid gave me serious burns on both forearms and my chest. Luckily, the liquid did not reach my 7 month old daughter who was sitting nearby in her high chair. VERY DANGEROUS!

A couple weeks ago I cooked frozen meat balls on my Cuisinart cookie sheets. I put all but five in the sauce. My husband, son and I ate them. Then my husband went over to the pan to eat another meat ball and notice they all had metal from the pan stuck on the bottoms of each one! I noticed the pan was slightly discolored where the metal had come of the pan onto the food.

I called Cuisinart and they said they have never heard of this. So I asked if it could be hazardous or cause health problems. The gentleman I spoke to took my name and number and said he would have someone get back to me on it. Its been a week and I haven't heard back from anyone. My other cookie sheet looks like metal lifted off it also. We most likely ate metal from that pan to. I kept the meat balls and pan as proof. I am also going to take pictures.

My mom and sister have the same pans. I showed them and they said they had never seen anything like that..they were shocked!! I am shocked!! I'm scared that it may cause health problems. I feel terrible that I feed that to my son and husband! What should I do? I don't even heat food in plastic in the microwave. Because I heard its harmful. Any info would be nice!

I purchased this Cuisinart Programmable Espresso Maker - EM-200C, at the Home Outfitters, Burloak Drive location in December 2008. At the time, we were told that it was the last one in stock. The clerk did a cursory check and decided that all of the parts were present. However, upon giving to my mother (Christmas present) she informed me that there were pieces missing (she had read the manual and watched the video - which she found to be a great source of information and easy to follow - and so was aware of the pieces that were not received).

So, we are missing the following pieces, as per the instruction booklet provided with the appliance: #16 - both of the cleaning pins #18 - measuring scoop/tamping tool and #19 - filter baskets (one-cup filter basket AND the pod filter basket for espresso pods) Could [they] advise me on how to go about attaining the pieces that should have been included with this expensive appliance?

For a machine that cost upwards of 300, I am not impressed by the lack of regard with which the matter was handled. I have had absolutely no support from Customer Service, only the suggestion that I buy the missing parts. I have not estimated the cost of purchasing and shipping these parts, though I'm sure it would be greater than 50. I would really like other consumers to be aware of the lack of regard with which this major company takes their valued customers. I will certainly not be buying from Cuisinart in the future. I am truly irritated by the lack of assistance from this company!

Purchased a 10 cup Cuisinart Grind & Brew coffee maker for 150. The grind process is very loud - not the initial bean grinding (about the same noise level as my electric bean grinder), but after the beans are ground the machine goes into a loooong, very loud drone that sounds like the machine is achieving lift-off - not kidding! Reading some of the comments about the lack of service Cuisinart provides (they haven't responded to my email) I think I will take advantage of my store's 30 day return policy for a refund - not an exchange!

Bought Cuisinart 12 cup carafe coffee maker in Nov. 2006 at Best Buy. The thermal carafe keeps coffee hot for about 30 minutes. Of course, the whole point of purchasing carafe is to keep coffee hot without it burning. I e-mail Cuisinart several weeks ago and have not received response.

Still waiting for response.
