Judy of Strunk KY (3/31/04):
I received the plants, but they were half dead, and finished dying. I ordered 6 trees. The price was $22.47. I have my canceled check.
Shirley of Mill Run PA (5/13/03):
I sent in an order for 20 Royal Paulownia Trees, 8 Tomato Plants, and 48 Super Hardy Lavender Flowers. I have not received my trees, instead I received Strawberry plants that were D.O.A. I received all 8 Tomato Plants but they were all wilted (5 dead and 3 MIGHT make it ). I received the Flowers but they also were D.O.A.. The check I wrote was cashed but I never received the right order. And what I did receive was dead.
Alfred of Richlands NC (4/19/03):
I ordered 10 Paulowina trees that were shipped to me broken in half so they would fit in the box. 12 cherry hedge plants and 6 butterfly plants were also ordered and came in as D.O.A. I spent $62.15 and got nothing. I emailed them several times but just like everyone else I got nothing for a response.
Why can't anyone do something about this? These people need some jail time for ripping off the amount of people they do. THEY WILL GIVE A KID 5 YEARS FOR SELLING DOPE ON A STREET CORNER BUT THEY WILL ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO RIP THE CONSUMERS OFF AT A NATIONWIDE LEVEL! THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED!
Marjorie of Livermore CA (2/24/03):
I ordered three Royal Paulownia trees at a cost of $9.98. The check was cashed in the amount of $14.47, including $3.50 shipping and a $.99 "safe delivery" charge. Three months later the "trees" arrived. What I received was three cans of dirt, with one can containing a dried up leaf inserted into the dirt with its dried up stem. I tried caring for them anyhow, in the hopes that they would grow, but they were basically DOA. I wrote to the address where the check had been sent, but heard nothing.
I lost $14.47. I thought I was buying three trees, and instead appear to have purchased three plastic containers filled with dirt. Hardly a devastating economic loss, but it hurts industry, as a whole, because I will be further reluctant to purchase items through the mail.
Pamela of Coolville OH (8/12/01):
I ordered Eskimo Raspberries, and the sweet plants, for a birthday gift -- $30.00 plus shipping. I waited and waited, the birthday came and went. I felt like a fool giving her a print off of the order in a card. 3 months later I was suprised -- a box did arrive with the most spindly plants. I have a pretty good green thumb put them in my window to liven them up a bit before I gave them as a gift. 2 days they were on their way out. I did what I could to save them, third day they were all brown. DEAD. Never saw anything die so fast. Contacted them via email 3 times, no response. Called the 800 number, got answering machine.
Lenny of Lynchburg VA (4/5/02):
I ordered a number of plants from this company, including the much advertized paloma trees. The plants that they did send were about dead already, tomato plants were bare stalks, did not send correct number ordered, some items were not sent at all. All sad to say are in the trash.
Thomas of Adrian MI (6/6/03):
I also ordered the Giant Tomato Trees and after a couple of months I received 2 1/2" sq. cubes of dirt with dried up, crunbly stems. They looked dead but I planted them anyway. There were no results. Called their phone number numerous times but always got a busy signal. Sent several E-mails but did not receive an answer.
Jeanette of Albuquerque NM (6/14/02):
I ordered 6 lavender plants. About three months after my order the plants arrived, but it was very late in our growing season (May 25). The plants arrived dry and limp. I planted them immediately but they were DOA and didn't survive. On May 29, 2002, I sent a letter to request a refund. On June 14, 2002 the letter was returned to me unopened. It was stamped "Out of Stock" "Return to Sender."
