GE Refrigerators: Cooling Problems |

Leanne of Mifflinburg PA (03/05/06) Dodie of Gastonia, NC March 1, 2006 Dodie of Gastonia NC (03/01/06) I purchased a GE refrigerator on 11-14-05 from a local appliance store in my area.
From the first day it made a rattling noise every time the compressor came on. I immediately called for service. The service tech called and I explained the problem and he told me on the phone it was the compressor and it was a normal sound. The noise continued and I once again called for service. A service tech was sent to my home. He told me this was a high tech compressor, best one on the market and this was a normal sound. The refrigerator handbook states it may make a whoosh or humming noise, but it says nothing about a loud rattling noise.
I have since contacted GE by phone and e-mail only to be told they could send another service tech (at my expense) but they can not do anything to satisfy me as a customer. I intend to continue on with e-mails, phone calls to GE until I get results. I was told by customer service representatives just because i didn't like the noise they could not exchange or refund my money. It would be like giving someone a refund because they didn't like the color. Bryan of River Vale, NJ January 25, 2006 Bryan of River Vale NJ (01/25/06) The refrigerators' water valve (not filter) where the water line comes in, breaks consitently every 8-14 months costing around 200 to fix each time. GE has inferior support both in the Customer Relations Department and higher up the corporate ladder.
