Lane of Saucier, MS January 12, 2006

Lane of Saucier MS (01/12/06)
After Hurricaine Katrina we needed a new shed to live in, so I went to Home Depot on 10/10/05. I bought a shed (which came with a 300.00 rebate).

I mailed in the rebate a day or two after buying the shed, with all the info requested, and before the rebate expired nov.30 05.  Never received it.

I figured I needed to call them and the number there was on the form to call but they had the wrong number on the rebate form. I got the number and was told that they needed me to resubmit the paper work because they said they needed a sku number in order to process my rebate.

It is now 6 weeks after resubmiting all the paperwork. I called today to check on the rebate and was told to call back in 10 days because it takes 4 - 6 weeks to get it in their system. I told them it is already 4 - 6 weeks , also told them that by the time I get the rebate (on my Home Depot card) that I would not need it cause i have already spent about 1,500 more to fix the shed up with insulatio, lighting, wiring,  ect. , and that shed is to be a new home for me an my kids. In addition, the shed was to have 2 doors, but it has only one. But I can handle that. I just want my rebate.

On December 23,2005 at about 1300 o'clock I rented a log splitter from your 24 hour rental, Strickland Rd location in Raleigh, NC.

Almost as soon as I started using it, I noticed that the exhaust blew directly in my face, proposing a health hazard .Secondly, I realized that the cylinder also had a hydraulic leak that sprayed a fluid mist directly in my face as well. Both these problems were serious enough for me to discontinue using the faulty equipment and I phoned the store about my concerns. They instructed me to return the tool.

I was made to pay over seventy five dollars for a tool I only got about 30 minutes use out of and possibly a health problem. Home Cepot claims on its on-line ad  "that when you need equipment and want quality, service and value for your money, the Home Depot Tool Rental Center offers top quality name brands, thats well maintained, and ready to use."

The log splitter appeared to have been missing a part causing the exhaust problem, and there was a small hole at the top of splitter's cylinder that sprayed fluid directly into my airway. I am very concernedf the harmful effects of breathing hydraulic fluids and exhaust fumes on my respiratory tract .The "knowledgeable associates" tightened the hitch so tight onto my 2" ball that it took them over forty minutes to install and remove it from my truck's receiver, making it impossible for me to remove it to position the splitter where I needed it to be.

I expected a complete refund or a replacement rental as soon as splitter is repaired.

Nancy of Roseville, MI December 14, 2005

Nancy of Roseville MI (12/14/05)
I ordered a snow blower on 11/15/05 and it was suppose to be shipped within 3 to 5 business days.

When I noticed that the order had not even been processed 3 business days later, I called and spoke with a supervisor by the name of Jason and he said that it was on back order. I explained that I needed the snowblower now and when I ordered it, it said it was in stock. He said that he would contact the manufacturer and to call back tomorrow. When I did he said that it would not be stocked and that he canceled my order. I asked for a confirmation but he said that it was the same number as the order number. He assured me that it was canceled because I told him I was going to order it somewhere else. This was on November 22, 2005.

I did order the snowblower somewhere else and got it. On December 5, 2005 there was a snow blower in my driveway from Home Depot and my account was charged. I called and spoke with a Suzette and Jeremy and they said that they needed to get it returned to the manufacturer before they could credit my account and it would be 24 to 48 hours. UPS picked it up on December 8 and delivered it on December 9, 2005. I called on December 9 to see if my account was credited. They said everything was closed and that my account would be credited on Monday, December 12, 2005. This time I spoke with Marie.

On December 13 I called again and they said it could not be credited until December 16, 2005. I called their corporate office and spoke with an Aaron who said there was nothing they could do, it was policy, I asked to speak with his supervisor and he said he could not do that, I asked for his last name and he said that he could not tell me. I want my money back.
