I was given a 200.00 gift card for the purchase of an area rug. When I went to the local store the selection they had in the store was not anything I could use so I went on line to check out what was available here. I was able to find (2) different styles that I liked and went back to the local store with the required information in hopes they could order it for me. I was told I had to order it myself on line and I could use my gift card to pay for the purchase, however when I went back on line and tried to place my order they wouldn't accept my gift card for payment and when I called to inquire about this I was told I could only use my gift card in a store, where they don't have what I wanted.

When I asked if I could redeem the gift card for cash I was told this wasn't possible either and they tried to get me to open a charge card with them so I could purchase the rug I wanted. All I want is the rug or the cash and they can NOT provide either. What kind of a company is this that can not provide the customer with appropriate service or will not even honor their own gift cards for on line purchases? No wonder people are going to Lowes for their purchases. I would suggest that a change in corporate policies be made to allow gift cards to be used for on line purchases and I know there are company representatives who agree with me because they told me this when I called them regarding this issue. If your own corp. personel feels the existing policy regarding gift cards and on line purchases is stupid don't you think it's about time to change this policy.

I spent many hours on line trying to find something that was not available in the store.

I made 2 trips to the store to try to get this resolved. I had to make (2) calls to different corp. locations in an effort to get this resolved.

I received a Ryobi tiller from my wife. It would work until i hit hard soil or caught a small rock stone. I took it back to home depot and made mistake #3. When They asked did i use it, I said yes...oh then u can't return it. I received the GIFT CARD that it was 199 not the 230(including tax) that was paid for it.

We purchased a Jenn-Air oven in April.  Since we spent over 1497, we were entitled to a 150 gift card through their rebate center. However, we were denied the card.

For three months, after submitting the paperwork, their website indicated that my submission hadn't been received. I made numerous phone calls and exchanged many emails with anonymous people.  I attached copies of the paperwork to my emails, and even sent copies via snail-mail.

Then they said I was not eligible for the card because the purchase was made before the qualifying period. Never mind that all the paperwork clearly shows that it was not.

I purchased a Home depot gift card for 50.00 at Christmas. The person I gave the gift card lost it.

When I took my receipt back to Home Depot, they would not replace the gift card because I purchased it with cash. Had I purchased it with a check or credit card, they would replace it. I have my original receipt and they can verify that the card has not been used.

However, they refuse since I purchased it with cash. I've been all the way up to their corporate offices and the last correspondence I received had a document entitled "Our Gift Card Policy". The last item addresses lost cards. It states that "cards will be replaced with required proof of purchase." My receipt should be my required proof of purchase. Their policy states nothing about cash purchases not being replaced.

I have tried since September to get my 300 rebate from Home Depot. I sent all the information requested the first time but the Rebate Center "claims" they did not get a copy of the original store reciept.
