We bought our LG microwave 18 months ago but we only used it it one year because we go south for the winter. Last fall I could feel that the control panel was not responding to my touch. When we returned this spring it does not respond except for the clock. WOW! This microwave is the most expensive and largest time piece in our home! Never another LG product in our home!!

I bought A microvave oven from Bestbuys,on 6/30/08, A few weeks ago when I went to use it ,it started fire in the left side from inside of it, I stoped it , checked everything, turened it on again, samething happened ,I turned it off ,called LG manufactures. First they gave me any excuse to get rid of me and not to help me, like is it over a year, etc. THen finally they sent a service person. Service hecame and I asked him what was wrong with the unit and why is it going on fire. He said I dont know, it is beyond repair and has to be changed ,he said it is a manufacures deffect and has seen this before. he said call the the same number you called before after an hour.

I called one of the supervisors and he said the serviceman has text us and indicated that the unit is dirty and that is the reason it was in fire so they cant do anything about it. Now I know the only dirt in that microwave is the smoke in it, that I left it as an evidance. So please help as it make no sence. The microvave gets in fire when it gets turn on, and they are not even wiling to exchane it or anything Help

It is very dangerouse to use or have in the house, And I need a replacement and cost of instulation ( about 400-500)

Over the countertop microwave failed after one year - replaced panel - (200)- broke in 30 days - replaced again (labor 75) - broken again. Called LG - pointing out that this is a DESIGN flaw (steam goes into panel and damages it according to the technician). They dont care - they have very bad customer service and dont stand by their products - NO LG ever again!

Paid as much for repairs (with NO FIX) in the first 1.5 years as the oven itself. Major inconvenience and frustrations

I purchased an over the stove LG microwave oven Dec 2005. Late in 2008 we began getting an F9 error while using it. We would clear it, and it would start working again. In Feb 2009, there was a hard failure, i.e. the F9 code wouldn't clear, and the microwave wouldn't work at all. With a little internet research, I found out that it was probably the magnetron, which has a 10 year warranty. I contacted LG and a local repair company to have it replaced.

They came out and replaced it, but the serial number was obliterated because of cleaning of the surface. LG has refused to cover the magnetron, because the serial number is not available. One e-mail stated LG policies validate the warranty thru the proof of purchase, on the same tag as where the serial number was, is the manufacture date of 2005.

I will never purchase an LG product again. It seems that their warranty is in name only, they don't stand behind the product, and give the consumer conflicting information. Reading other complaints in this forum, I guess I'm lucky that the microwave didn't do more damage.

I may have to pay for the magnetron, even though it's supposed to be under a 10 year warranty.
