SUNIL of TRIVANDRUM, India November 1, 2009

I have taken the AMC of the LG refgr on 24/10/07 to 23/10/2009 for Rs.1113 from Trivandrum. Now I am at Kollam town next to trivandrum city and on 15/10/09 complaint was made with the customer care no. in connection with my freezer door. But after one week when I contacted the customer care people they replied that my complaint was closed since the service personal has informed them that nobody was there at my home.

Again on 20/10/09 my complaint was registered at the customer care and after one week again when I contacted they had given a telephone no. of one managaer at trivandrum and he then made me contact the service personal through his phone and he replied that he will be coming immediately. But unfortunately till now nobody turned on and hence this complaint. I request to refund my amount paid as AMC as I can approach any local repair station. My AMC period ends 24/10/09 and the AMC paper is also been lost. Thanking you

I purchased an LG french door refrigerator, model LCF25760, in 2006. This morning I opened the door to find that the lights were lit and the housing for them was melted, hanging down and very hot. I have been looking on the internet for recalls for this problem and have found none. I have found that numerous other persons have had the exact same problem. All of the blogs indicate that they have contacted LGE about this problem and been told that the repair was the consumers problem since the unit was out of warranty. I will probably get the same story when I call.

When is LGE going to wake up and figure out that this is a major fire hazard and it is only a matter of time, if it hasn't happened already, that someone's house is going to burn down and/or people are going to die due to this problem they have yet to fix. If a class action lawsuit is instituted I will certainly join it unless LGE steps up to the plate and solves this problem.

Clarence of Chambersburg, PA October 31, 2009

Talked to a LG customer service rep about the entire light/control panel falling off the roof of my fridge.(Model LFRC22750TT - French doors with Freezer on bottom) I was told LG would do nothing to correct this problem. Spent over 1600.00 and I don't think motherboards should be failing at 4 years old causing the lights to stay on and melt the housing. That is faulty product and LG know about. So I will be sure to include as many links as I can like this site when I post a YouTube video showing the faulty parts. Warranty or not this is unacceptable. If you made quality parts people wouldn't be forced to buy extended warranties. My fridge may end up in my front lawn with a sign stating " LG sells poor quality appliances and does NOT back them." I am not done with this.

Purchased LG refrigerator 6-28-07 and paid 1423.90 model no. 26925sw..experienced ice maker problems on 3 occasions which were finally fixed by a modification of the filling of the ice cube unit The "fix" did not work thereafter because the water continued to slightly overfill the ice cube maker but we lived with it rather than go thru the ice buildup parts and labor cost..At age 73 , this was to be our last refrigerator and today, the unit which spits out the ice (cube or crush) stopped working (it appears that the plastic fan which channels the ice is broken and the axle is off center). We have 2 LG TVs.. I asked LG to give us some help and fix a product which should have lasted longer than it did.Answer: sorry..1 year warranty and unless you paid extra to extend the warranty(why when you pay1400+ ?), my problem..DO NOT BUY LG REFRIGERATOR WITH ICE MAKER AND EXPECT IT TO LAST BEYOND ONE(1) YEAR.. I am not through with this issue. I will fix the ice maker at my cost and ask LG to explain in a court of law why the product failed.

We purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator in January of 2008 from Future Shop. In less than 6 months the rubber door gaskets were all ripped. It took about 5 calls before we could find someone to service the product and we only live 15 minutes outside the Toronto boundries. Since then the interior light malfunctioned melting the computer housing assembly inside the fridge. The plastic for the drawers are so brittle that they have cracked or broken. The rubber gaskets ahve all broken again. The ice maker sensor does not work as the the fridge never stops making ice. Customer service was very rude and would not allow me to speak to a senior representative.

I was just looking for a service group to come "fix" the ice maker on our LG Refrigerator -- double doors with freezer on the bottom. I thought it was just "me" with a problem. Now I'm thinking class action law suit! This fridge can barely be 3 years old -- the freezer works, but the ice maker doesn't and the error code on the door panel indicates I should unplug the fridge, take everything out of the refrigerator and the freezer, wait a 3-4 hours or longer and then "try it." Well it does work ... for an hour or so.

So far, I've gone through this process 4 times and still no ice. Do I even bother with a 5th attempt? After reading ALL of these complaints and paying 2200 or so -- I'm thinking what's the use? Maybe I should be looking for another refrigerator instead! There should be a recall on this thing. I'm really disgusted. (My parent's fridge work for 25 years ... it was a Coldspot and it NEVER gave out -- probably STILL working somewhere! What is going on here with engineering and product quality? Probably have to buy another refridgerator to the tune of 2500 plus delivery, etc.

Col of NOIDA, India October 24, 2009

We have purchased one refrigerator 190 litre and experienced immense problems with regards to the product. the complaints were lodged repeatedly and escalated to higher authorities as the piece was defective. it took LG electronics over 25 days for LG to gain some understanding of the problem.

On 19th October 2009, we purchased a LG washing machine from NOIDA and again the piece was delivered with a defective timer. a complaint was lodged vide compaint number C-09A2300775. this complaint was attended by a service engineer from LG who advised us to use the machine in the current state. LG India has the worst consumer service and they disown the product and the buyer repeatedly after selling. There is no after sale service and no concept of quality, either in the product or in the service.

We are senior citizens and had to live without a refrigerator for a month in Delhi's summer and now are facing harassment again due to a faulty product. LG executives do not answer phones and do not respond to consumer complaints about defective products. Since payments are made before delivery, the consumer is at the complete mercy of LG and they sure know how to harass.

Cindy of Cedar Hill, MO October 24, 2009

Purchased an LG French door refrig/freezer. Casters on rolling bins cracked immediately. Ice build up in the no frost freezer and everything thaws! Got the ER FF code and contacted the online service number. Instructions to unplug and let it sit for an hour. A couple months later same thing all over again. Will Never buy any LG product again!

David of atlanta, GA October 18, 2009

I bought this fridge about 4 years ago & now I get a ( ER FF) which is a code for a bad freezer fan. My old fridge I replaced never had a issue. Not very happy for the price I paid .

David of Rio Rancho, NM October 16, 2009

We purchased an LG refrigerator in the fall of 2006 at Best Buy. We had never heard of LG before, but the salesman told us how great they were and since we had had our previous refrigerator/freezer for about 20 years without any problem, we were foolish to assume that our experience in the pass would be replicated in the future. It is three years later and our ice maker is being repaired, because of a poorly designed solenoid. and it looks like the service panel may have problems as well. So much for Best Buy and LG.
