We purchased the LGXS30776S refrigerator. Very disappointed. The compressor died within 6 months. Replaced under warranty, but food ruined. Approximately 4 years later the ice maker and water dispenser quit. After wasting money on a new panel and ice maker, we found the wires going into the door itself went bad. What a horrible design. Planned failure point. I learned how to bypass the door wire and rigged an external wire. That has worked for about 8 months now. A couple days ago the fridge appears to have a sensor going bad. Every day It quits working with a defrost error. Power down and back up and it works again. OH, and a permanent fuse quit about 4 months ago. I was able to solder a replacement in, but clearly it is on it's last leg. Won't be buying another.

We have had our LG refrigerator for just over 5 years. We also registered the refrigerator with LG when we purchased it. A few months before the warranty expired, the freezer stopped working. We made an appointment for warranty service, then the freezer started working again and we cancelled the appointment. This occurred 3 more times over the next 6 months. Each time we had to cancel the appointment because the refrigerator began working again. The fourth time, both the refrigerator and the freezer stopped working. This was over a month ago. Not only is the compressor not functioning, but each time we plug or unplug the refrigerator, it arcs at the outlet.

LG instructed us to unplug the unit and not use it. That was more than 3 weeks ago. We did all the troubleshooting with LG via phone, email, and text to no avail. I have notified LG that we have lost over $1,000 of food, purchased a separate freezer until for over $300, and purchased a used refrigerator we had to put in our basement to keep our food. Since then, for over a month, I have had 12 separate correspondences with LG regarding the issue and getting someone here to repair the refrigerator.

LG has done nothing short of making us jump through hoops. I have submitted the purchase invoice, the model and serial off the refrigerator, the delivery information, and the delivery acknowledgement which I signed. Each time, LG asks for more documentation and now says that they checked the invoice on the Home Depot slip with Home Depot and it does not exist. They also claim that the delivery receipt from Home Depot is unacceptable. Each email I receive back from them is filled with gratuitous remarks, then tells me that the paperwork is not sufficient. There is no more paperwork other than the original invoice and the delivery receipt, yet they continue to delay and tell me once I provide more information that I could not possibly have. They said once approved it would take 7 days to get a repair person here. They are now adding in that there could be a charge for the repair as well.

This has been one of the worst customer service experiences we have had for something that should be (1) simple to confirm via the paperwork, and (2) LG knowing full well that we are a family of four with a refrigerator that does not work who have spent almost $2,000 in food and backup units while they use what looks a lot like stall tactics so they do not have to honor the warranty repair. We have other LG products, but have never had to deal with an issue like this.

Now that we know how LG handles their warranty claims, stalls and requests paperwork repetitively that has already been supplied, and has no consideration for the fact that we have gone for over a month without a working refrigerator, we would never purchase another LG product. I will file a complaint with our attorney, the Better Business Bureau, and the Attorney General's office. IN addition, LG should not have access to my Home Depot account where I bought the refrigerator to check on purchases without my consent. Not only are they in violation of privacy rights, they have blatantly ignored their responsibility. I would not recommend LG to any customer. The purchase may work fine when you get it, but if our experience has shown anything, it is that LG does not stand behind their products and uses delay tactics to absolve themselves from responsibility.

I have had LG appliances for 6 years now. They were a year old when we bought the house. If you are not the original owner, they absolutely will not cover any warranty. Dishwasher went first at 3 years old, then the microwave at 4 years old, then the oven at 5 years old, and now the fridge at 6 years old. I took my chances with Frigidaire. I agree with everyone else. I will never buy another LG product again. My refrigerator has never worked properly. The compressor is notoriously weak in these units. I also had issues with the crisper drawers; they're not very useful. Even using the drawer settings as instructed, the produce dries out quickly. My food is spoiling at a much faster rate than the previous refrigerator I had (a Samsung). LG kept pestering me for a review, and when I made an honest one, calling out all these problems, they cut it and told me it didn't follow guidelines. If you are seeing good reviews, they may be false. I certainly know that they refuse to post negative reviews (even if they are earned and honest). Bad company, bad product.

There is a reason LG has a rating of 1.2. I bought a LG refrigerator in 2021 and six months later, the compressor went out. It took LG six weeks to get another compressor. It ruined over 400.00 worth of food. Then May of this year, the compressor went out again, ruining another 400.00 worth of food. They want to charge me to replace warranty compressor. Read the reviews. Unfortunately, I didn't. They have a class action suit going on due to so many compressors failing and with their knowledge. They are terrible. Their support team is terrible. Don't walk away, run from purchasing a refrigerator from them.

I purchased an LG ThinQ Refrigerator 4 years and 7 months ago from Lowe's. I ALSO purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Everything was good until 3 weeks ago and it just quit. The error code indicates the compressor has serious error. I called to get the warranty work on it and no one came to look at it, they just made the diagnosis over the phone based on the error code Lowes and LG have been unable to get the part to repair it and I continue to get excuses that the parts will be here tomorrow (for the last 3 days) I live in Florida and have now been without any refrigerator for that long. I paid $3500 for this unit and I expect it to last longer than 4 years and would also expect Lowes to honor the warranty. Just stay away from LG products. If they can't fix it, they want to give me gift cards for Lowes. I'm finished with both companies.

I bought a four door LG refrigerator in December 2021, over $3,000 at the time. The "Craft Ice" maker stopped working after just over a year, despite following LG's advice for defrosting etc.. Finding multiple user reviews, I decided not to replace it given the design fault (apparently there was a class action lawsuit against LG for this part). In March 2026 the refrigerator stopped cooling, and developed a fault, which apparently was due to a failed freezer fan. The appliance was registered with LG and tracked on the ThinQ app, a total waste. It took over three weeks and several hours on the phone with customer "service" (if you can call it that) to be told that there's no repair company in my area who are able to repair my fridge.

Some agents were telling the fault was covered by warranty, others it's not. I spoke with six different agents and three "managers" (just as clueless). Some thought they knew what the fault was, others not. Neither was able to tell me what needs to be done to repair it and who could do it. They didn't even know the part number needed for the repair, and never returned my calls or emails, or those from my local repair technician. I had to look the part up on Google and buy it from Amazon, the figure out how to replace it. Basically, I'm on my own for my LG appliances in my area in Southern Vermont. Without any exaggeration, the worst customer service ever. A total disgrace and will not be buying LG ever again.

After the service repair person was done fixing the icemaker the icemaker was still not working. The fridge stopped freezing, and the fridge stopped cooling.

I purchased an LG four-door French door refrigerator in September 2024, and it performed well until mid-March 2026, when I discovered that the upper right door gasket had begun tearing from the bottom upward. Although the one-year factory warranty expired less than six months ago, I contacted LG to request a goodwill repair or replacement at no cost, given the relatively recent expiration and my history as a repeat customer. I regularly purchase complete LG kitchen appliance packages for my investment properties, and as recently as two months ago, I purchased an LG washer for my home.

After speaking with several representatives and requesting a goodwill accommodation, I was informed that the repair would cost a flat $399. The only concession offered was a $30 discount, which I declined. I am disappointed that a critical component, such as the rubber door seal, appears to be of such low quality that it failed in under 18 months. Equally concerning is LG’s apparent willingness to forgo a long-term customer relationship rather than stand behind what I believe to be a defective part. I had been planning to replace my 20-year-old Whirlpool dryer with an LG model and to consider another LG kitchen package for an upcoming investment property. However, this experience has caused me to reconsider those plans. Appliance shoppers, take note!

I have lost over $1000 worth of meat/dairy etc. and spent $600 having one fridge's computer board replaced. The second fridge was taken to the dump!

Nearly $4000 on two fridges, plus $1000 food waste plus $600 repair that didn't work. Now I have to purchase 2 replacement fridges. LG's solution? Pay an additional $499 plus tax for a one time repair that includes parts and labour! After reading additional post repair reviews - I will not be doing this - I will use this money instead to purchase a NON-LG fridge. Save yourself the frustration and extra costs and bug anything other than an LG!!!

It then began making a horrible humming/grinding noise every few days. I called LG and was told to watch a YouTube video and reset the refrigerator and to wrap food I put in the crisper. Ridiculous!! A brand new refrigerator??

I have since spoken to LG at least 7 times where they promise to send a service tech to check the problem within 48 hours but I have yet to see anyone and this has been going on for 6 weeks. Meanwhile water bottles freeze in the crisper drawer and the humming/grinding noise is getting worse!! The refrigerator settings are the recommended settings. It’s obvious that LG does not stand behind their product. I’m so disappointed, I waited a long time for a new French door refrigerator and saved up for it. Do not buy a LG refrigerator, if you have a problem they will not stand behind their product.

Customer service reps just read a script, spent hours trying to get someone with a little bit of knowledge to help me, no luck. I finally had to call a local repairman and pay out of pocket.

I bought my LG expecting it to be a great product, but it became a nightmare in my house. After five years it started to cause major problems. The compressors went down then the ice-maker started leaking the motherboard, and it’s like one thing after the other. I never expected a refrigerator for this price points for it not to last more than five years. I feel LG should be buying everyone a new refrigerator. They knew that this refrigerator was a lemon when they put it on the floor for it to go out to homes. No one is in the business of buying one refrigerator after another. And now that I’m out looking for a new refrigerator I guaranteed you. It won’t be an LG never again.

Just don't get a LG. It hasn't worked right since we got it and it's going to cost out of pocket to fix. It's only been 6 months. They really don't make things like they used to. Calling LG is only confirming that they do not care about your business. Will never buy LG again.

I bought an LG LMXC23746S Refrigerator in December 2015 for about $3,200 from Home Depot. I liked this model because it has the center drawer and my neighbor have bought the same model a few weeks prior. About 3 years later it stopped getting cold. I called LG and found out they had a recall on their "sealed" compressor and it likely needed to be replaced. BTW, my neighbor had the same problem a couple months later with his. Anyway, we contacted LG and complained about our problem and they sent out a repair guy to replace the compressor. They said the compressor had a ten year warranty. They also sent us a check to cover all the spoiled food we had lost. It seemed like they were standing behind their product.

Fast forward to today. We had a repair guy out to see why the fridge isn't getting cold, again. We're told that the compressor is bad and needs replacing. So I call LG and am told, "We're sorry but the refrigerator is out of warranty". I replied that I had purchased it exactly 10 years in 2 months ago, and that the compressor had been replaced less than 8 years ago. They said again, "the refrigerator is out of warranty and there is nothing we can do". That's not standing behind your product in my mind. The estimate to replace the compressor is between $800 and $1,000. My recommendation, do not buy a refrigerator from LG.

I purchased a full kitchen suite (fridge, dishwasher, range and microwave) six years ago. I have had the range replaced (extended warranty) a year ago when it didn’t work for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year) and it’s currently not working, since Thanksgiving, today is 1/19/26. The refrigerator has been replaced twice, once under warranty and once with extended warranty. The dishwasher was replaced 6 months ago and I refused to get another LG. So when it comes to dependability, LG HAS NONE. If you gave me a set today, I would sell them and take the money to buy something that might work.
