Some LG Refrigerators To Lose Energy Star Label

Annette of Greensboro, NC January 1, 2009

I like many purchased an LG front loader washer and dryer. I have owned them for three years and have had nothing but problems with them. Our washer just died and finding someone to service the product is next to impossible. After reading all the customer complaints on this site I feel relieved that I am not alone. Everything that everyone has described about their LG washer/dryer I have experienced. I can say I will never buy LG again and will tell as many people as I can not to buy LG!

Economically I feel like I have lost money that I have invested in the product and now in repairs.

After 4 visits by their service people, no changes. The 2nd one that came out said my washer was defective and should be replaced. I don't like to discard and wanted another opinion so they sent out a 3rd repairman and just looked at it said it was my floor and when the washer spun out the water was creating the problem. That's not the case as my floor installer said he braced it for this.

On the 4th visit same guy and he just looked at it. In addition the clothes smell and no matter what I've tried I can't get the soured, rubbery smell out.

discarded clothes and this weekend was at a friends house who has a Samsung and she advises same problem and that she's had to replace her floor under the washer because of it. Both of us were told by the salespeople that our respective units were the applicable washers for the space they are going into.

Purchased an LG dishwasher in June of 2006, about 8 months into it the thing needed some repairs. Well, now it's Dec. 2008 and it needs more repairs. The guy that originally did it no longer works on them here, but will go 6 miles south of where I live and thats as far North as he will travel. LG is the worst...nobody will work on them because it takes too long to get parts.

So...as you can tell I am somewhat frustrated right now and the company I bought it from won't do anything because the warranty is over and they don't know what to do anyway. Emotional damage because my blood pressure is throught the roof and who knows how long it will take to even find someone who will work on the darn thing. Thanks for letting me vent! DO NOT BUY LG!

Two years ago, I bought what I thought was the washer that I dreamed of for so many years. I couldnt wait to get it home. Within just a couple of months everthing that I got out of the washer smelled of mildew. I had numerous fight with my husband about the fact that I did not get the clothes out in time, so they were all mildewed. The fact was I did not let them stay in there for any amount of time. I thought it was just me or my washer. Thanks goodness, one day he decided to do some research and discovered this site. Now its not my fault anymore.

Anyway he called LG they gave him all kinds of procedres to do to try and solve the odor problem. I had to seriously schedule laundry time (and a lot of time at that) which is hard to come by. Run the washer empty on perm press w/ hot waterand bleach. Then do all the laundry as fast as I could, which is not fast at all because each load takes sooo long!!! Leave the door open, wipe everything down, pull the plug and drain it. It was somewhat better coming out of the washer and into the dryer after going through this whole process, but as soon as someone got rained on, or sweaty, the terible wet dog smell would appear.

What a nightmare it has been and at the time there were only three of us. This did not save me any time, money, energy, or water I can assure you. I recently had to take on two extra member in my family, so I absolutely do not have time to fight with this washing machine to get my laundry done any longer. Besides the terrible smells, I did not find this washer to be in any way shape or form superior in cleaning to my previous top loaders. My whites are all grey, all my towels stink, I dont know what these people are talking about they say they clean so much better. Anyways, Merry Christmas to me, we had top go get a washer for our family for Christmas.

800.00 lost for a useless washer, many extra loads and extended loads in vain attempt to clean clothes. 200.00 in water, replace towels several times 300.00, replace whites socks & underwear regularly 200.00. Special detergents and washer cleaners, 300.00 Much of my time watching, rinsing, draining, cleaning priceless!!!!

I own an LG Front Loading Steam Washer. It is less than 3 months old. There are only 3 of us in the house, so laundry demand isn't that great. But just like the others, my clothes STINK so bad that it makes me sick. There is less smell on the clothese before I was them. I follow all manufacturer's instructions; buy very expensive special tub cleaner that is supposed to get rid of the smell; CLEAN my washer after every 4-5 loads, NONE OF WHICH HELPS.

Of course, LG says its not a problem with their washer; warranty won't cover it, ditto to all that others have said. Only point I'd like to make is that mine is a new model -- sorry folks, they still haven't fixed the problem.

Have to throw out a 3 month old, very expensive washer and go back to a top loader. I can guarantee you I never had a top loader that requires you to clean the tub and then still have clothes that stink.
