Pur Water Filters

Matt of palm bay, FL October 15, 2009

My experience is very much the same as everyone here on this site. I bought A Pur water filter from Walmart and within 30 days the housing cracked and started spraying water everywhere. I contacted Pur customer service and they informed me there was nothing they could do because i already discarded the box it came in.

I am urging anyone thinking of buying one of these Pur water filters, to think twice and just read all of the complaints about Pur on the web. I wish i had done so before wasting my money on this piece of junk water filter. I do not have the money to buy a new filter. DO NOT BUY PUR WATER FILTERS!

Denise of Ypsilanti, MI October 10, 2009

I bought a faucet mount, Pur Water Filter, 3 weeks ago. There is a meter that indicates when a new cartridge should be installed. It spews water out of that meter now. NOT a quality product!

Pauline of Selden, NY October 8, 2009

Paid 25 for a faucet mount Pur brand Stage 2 water filter. After 30 days the housing on the unit began leaking through cracks that appeared on it. The unit is junk and should be removed from the market. Many people are experiencing the same. I bought it at Walmart.

Daphine of North Myrtle Beach, SC October 7, 2009

I installed the faucet mount system and after approximately 30 days the piece that the faucet water flow through unfiltered broke off. So now my sink sprays unabated and splashes everywhere even if I have the flow on low. THEN, several hairline cracks began to appear on the filter casing within another 30 days, shortly after that water started to spew out of those cracks. I have attempted to contact PUR twice via email to no avail. My current filter is very new and I can't use it. These filters are not cheap at all and I am living week to week. I even tried duct taping it...that isn't working and now I am concerned about the epoxy contaminants the water is picking up as it runs down the taped casing and into my glass, cooking pan, cat's water bowl etc.

Now I am on the search for another solution to my filtration needs as North Myrtle Beach water can not be consumed with confidence due to the strong contaminant flavor. I am barely getting buy as a server in this destroyed economy and I have to shell out yet more money. I don't have a dime saved and this sort of shoddy product turnout is largely responsible. I just can't catch a break.

PUR Water Filter - Faucet Mount. I have had numerous Pur Mounts. The current one leaks, past ones have had all types of problems. System failure, unit fell apart etc. SO I contacted Pur Customer Service. I contacted the company through email and they graciously sent me a Generic Store Coupon to replace it at no cost. Only one problem is that they may be made in China folks and apparently no quality control.

allison of warwick, RI October 5, 2009

I bought the Pur systyem with the flavor option. After a very short time, the system started leaking from the unit. I bought new filters, and replaced the old one. When I turned the faucet back on, it leaked even more. I couldn't return the product because I didn't have the box anymore. I called the company. They told me that: "It is a very unusual complaint." but sent me a coupon to replace the one that broke.

(should last YEARS not MONTHS!)" Thsi has been MY exact experience & feelings, except we're on our 4th faucet unit!!!!! I tried to complain to P. & G. but had already thrown out the box, & complaints aren't accepted without the UPC & model nbr.

Manuel of kearny, NJ October 2, 2009

2 months after I bought the filter and put to use the casing started to crack in different locations. water leakage occurring in different locations. I had bought several replacements filters for the unit and I won't be able to use them. The unit and the replacement cartridges were around 50 us dollars. Not cheap

Michael of Rockville, MD September 30, 2009

In the Last YEAR I've had to buy (replace) PUR water filter (attach to sink) going on the 3rd time. (If I hadn't made the mistake of buying a LARGE quantity of the 3 stage filters I'd find another method of filtration!) probably INLINE! Cost ~50 per replacement AND CERTAINLY should last more then one filter change per unit! (should last YEARS not MONTHS!)

Terese of La Mirada, CA September 29, 2009

I have bought 2 of these faucet models and both have broken. I tried many things to fix it but I have the same problem as everyone else. The unit leaks and sprays water everywhere.
