Trane

James of Corpus Christi, TX April 21, 2009

I had an Trane system installed several years ago. the coils had been replaced several times under warrenty, thier was still several years warrenty left when Malek Inc. was called to repair it again, i was advised to replace the unit due to the same problems. a new trane was installed in 2007, an agreement was made for the remaining warrenty to include full coverage on the new unit, trane never put this in wrighting, on 04/18/2009 the new unit stopped working on 04/20/2009 it was diagnossed by malek inc. of having the same problem (leaking coils) this unit isnt even two years old, still in warrenty, a simple search on yahoo revieled Trane (American Standard Inc) has had numerous failure of the coils either desigh flaw/defective/workmanship, one company in Florida replaced coils 12 times, another in Alabama replaced 4 on the same unit the list goes on Hundreds have been replaced most take about 7 pounds of freon 22 per unit each time all this freon released into the atmosphere due to Trane inc.

this not only depletes the ozone could thay be violating the EPA clean air act, due to known problems with the desigh/defective/workmanship if all these units are repaired under warrenty someone has the total number of freon 22 releases, my unit is awaiting parts seems so many is being replaced no one in our area has any in stock, something needs to be done about all these alleged accidental releases of freon, my a/c still isnt fixed, dont know if thay are going to charge from the warrenty left on the old unit or the new unit, verry costly, time consuming on my part.

I had a Trane heatpump installed about 5 years ago. I cannot get anyone from the company to return my call. It blows cold air. This happened before and they replaced the thermostat.

Trane AC Unit went bad just 4 years old. It costs us 952.00 labor to replace and according to our tech company knows the compressors are bad.
We are on fixed income, disabled and did not have 952 when we thought we were buying quality.

My new Trane HVAC unit was leaking freon into my son's room. He developed a chronic caugh and was put on loads of med. After we found out the AC unit was leaking freon into his room and repaired the unit he cough went away. Also, the unit leaked a second time outdoors now and Trane will not replace unit or refund the repair fee's. Both leaks are manufacture defects not a normal repair of sorts.

loss of work, medical bills, repair bills, possible permenent damage to son for breathing freon for a long perior of time while unit leaked. His bedroom is the first vent in the home.
