Kathy of Milwaukie OR (04/24/08) We bought a porch swing two years ago. It cost us over $200. The hanging bar that holds the swing broke. You have remember, it only get used about 5 months out of the year. I called the first time and they said they had no parts (they were the actual manufacturers of the swing) except for the frame. They then referred me to two different websites.
I contacted both of these sites and they told me they get calls from people referred by Walmart all the time and they can't figure out why. They don't have parts for patio furniture manufactured by Walmart. It is just a scam to get people off the line. Beware if you buy furniture from Walmart and it breaks (and it will) you will not be able to find parts to fix it so we are now out an expensive item and we've only had it for two years.

Douglas of Walterboro SC (12/18/06) On December 21, 2005, I purchaced a battery for my lawn mower. In the month of September,06 my lawn mower stopped cranking. I assumed it was the battery because I could get my mower cranked by getting a jump from my neighbor. I took the battery back to Wal-Mart because it was still in warrenty. The people at Wal-Mart tested my battery and said there was nothing wrong with my battery. When I told them I could get my mower running using my neighbors lawn mower and my battery would not hold a charge, one of the clerks in so many words said I was lying. This really got me upset. When they realized I was fixing to cause a disturbance they gave me a new battery,so I thought. I took the new battery home but it would not crank my mower either.I felt bad because I thought they may have been right and I did have a starter problem.
I took my lawn mower to my local repair shop to have them repair the starter. You can imagine how angry I became when They called to say the only thing they could find wrong with my mower was it had a bad battery. Wal-mart gave me another bad battery hoping it would last until the warrenty ran out.
I'm Fixing to become their worse headache.

I bought a new lawn mower that carries a 2 yr. warranty. I had this mower for approx. 3 wks when the pull rope housing pulled loose. The bolts holding the housing was still intact so I took the mower back to WalMart to get it replaced.
I talked to Gary H who came out and looked at the mower. He never looked at my sales receipt nor did he even ask my name. He raised the mower up and looked under it. "Looks like the shaft is bent, I need to have it checked out before I can do anything; it will only take a few days."
I asked who I would need to contact when I returned, his reply was "me." I asked what if you're not here? "I am always here." Well, three days went by, called to speak with Gary. Guess what? He was not there. This went on for approx. 2-3 wks talking to this one & that one finally they had my mower. Spoke with a man named David who asked me if I had sharpened the blade.
I replied my son had put a new one on. My son left a spacer out of the blade which caused it to vibrate, the shaft was not bent! Now, they had the the pullrope housing replaced, also the blade & handed me a bill for $65.00. When I said something about not authorizing the work David said, "I am not going to argue about it."
I replied, "I am going to pay it, but I did not authorize the work to be done." So I wrote a check for the amount to get my mower.

I stopped to buy a fishing license. The special of the day was a riding lawnmower in the parking lot (NEW) advertised for $199 with a bagger and complete package. After getting my fishing license, I bought a camera to photograph the pricing. Walmart is big but I wanted to purchase 2, one for myself and one for a local charity. The cashier keyed in the SKU and it was priced higher. The manager Chip was called. He would not honor the price and sent someone to change it. There were 3 other customers who did not know what to do.
Being a Chinese customer, I felt discriminated. The cashier and customers laughed and said it is impossible. I felt like I was in a communist country with no rights. I contacted my attorney general's office at 617 727 8400 and they did not know what to do.

I bought a small lawm mower battery. On the way home battery acid escaped and burned through my carpet. Wal-Mart says they are not responsable because they did not load the battery. I was told the batteries should not leak acid unless they were defective. Even if they do leak all batteries sold were on the bottom shelf for anyone to get. I think someone could really get hurt. There were no instructions or warnings on how to get the battery home.
Hedy of Houma LA (8/9/01):
I bought a lawnmower on 5-31-2001 and tried to return it on 7-10-2001. It does not operate properly. They would not take it back; the purchase price was $211.02 with tax. The lawn department manager said I was 9 days too late. We had horrible weather due to Tropical Storm Alyson, which gave us really hard floods. I couldn't even drive out of my parking lot much less go across town to return it before than.
