I purchased a whirlpool dishwasher quiet partner I in September 2007. I have used this appliance 3 times a week for 16 months. It is 4 months out of warranty and the motor/bearing went out.

Will cost 300.00 to fix! I am cutting my loses, junking it, and buying another name brand appliance. I will put the word out every chance I get regarding Whirlpools quality issues. They will lose much more in business than it will cost me to replace.

I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher a year and 5 months ago. I spent a little extra and got a good one...or so I thought. During it's initial warranty, they had to replace the motor twice! Approaching the end of it's warranty, they offered me an extended warranty. I bought it. Well, all of the little buttons are starting to fall off of the touch panel that controls all of the functions. It looks as though the stamping process used in manufacture was a little too hard. Even the buttons we never use are becoming detached.

A call to the extended warranty company, TWG Innovative Solutions, and they inform me that since the control panel still works, no repair will be made. They suggested I call Whirlpool. A call to Whirpool followed. They would be pleased to sell me a control panel for 216.41. I'll bet they would!!! I informed the young man that the dishwasher will go into the garbage along with the contract and that I'll never buy another Whirlpool again. I guess I'll buy a foriegn brand (LG, Electrolux, etc.) next time.

We bought a whirlpool dishwasher through Sears in 2004. 2 years later it started leaking and we called and they said there was a recall and would replace the whole appliance. That was 2006, a week ago Jan 2009, this one started leaking. Of course the warranty with Sears just ran out in December. Isn't that how it is...Whirlpool said they won't do anything. Whirlpool use to be the BEST, but only 2 years before they break. This is the LAST WHIRLPOOL I WILL EVER BUY...they are a piece of JUNK.

My THREE year old KitchenAid Dishwasher and Built-in Refrigerator have had problems and service! Defective parts are the problem. It seems one MUST purchase the extended warranties on these products to cover inferior design and durability. Every service person I've spoken to has said problems are due to cheap parts. Why don't they just include the price of extended warranty and save us all a huge hassle. I'm faced with replacing my top of the line dishwasher due to faulty parts and repairmen. Whirlpool Corp. has offered to pay for parts, every time a factory service person (A & E Factory Service) works on this appliance, something else goes wrong. It is no longer a reliable product.

What will results in inferior quality and durability, (most servicemen have said products life time is sometimes 3 - 5 years on some models), will more waste in energy resources, landfill space, and an economic disaster. American craftmanship has plummeted in my opinion.
