Debra of Snoqualmie WA (06/28/08) I purchased a Tioga motorhome which has a Dometic refrigerator. This refrigerator has not operated correctly from the get-go. It has never cooled properly or switched over and operated on propane properly. It worked okay on electricity. Although I had to replace the electrical board - 300. Now the cooling unit split open and leaked all over the inside sending a rancid smell everywhere. The unit is non inoperable. It is only seven years old and the cost to replace close to 2000.
I contact a service shop and the refrigerator is under recall for a fire safety. I never received this notice until I ask for it. Dometic claims that it is too late for the recall and refuses to accept any responsibility for the rest of the BAD product.
Cost of electrical board. Loss of refrigerator. Cost of repairs close to 2000. This is not a company/ product that Fleetwood should continue to use. Renee of Robbinsville, NC May 6, 2008
Renee of Robbinsville NC (05/06/08) I don't even know where to begin there have been so many problems with my home. Many of my walls were bowed and show lines where the sheet rock was attached. There are screw pops throughout my home. My roof leaked, my marriage line is still not right after they fixed it once. My doors don't stay open. My linoleum flooring has holes throughout it from debris poking the way through. Some of my issues have been fixed in their eyes, but not mine. It's awful.
THey came here today to fix my flooring, but want to add shoe molding to hold it down ! That would look terrible. I didn't buy a home with shoe molding and said so. THey told me that this is the way they resolve flooring problems. THey offered me money towards a contractor. Five hundred dollars ! This is to pay for the cost of replacing the linoleum in my master bathroom, kitchen, and laundry room AND fix the floor joist in my kitchen ! I am tired of all the problems.I told them neither of their remedies are to my liking. I need a lawyer
Fleetwood contractors have been visiting my home since August of 07. Adam of Woodward, OK April 25, 2008
Adam of Woodward OK (04/25/08) We just bought a Fleetwood this year. We were told it would take 6-8 weeks. It actually took 3 months before they delivered it. Then they just sat it there for 2 weeks before the even pulled it onto the house pad. Some of the shingles had come off the roof. Instead of placing plastic over it, they left it with the wood part of the roof exposed. It rained on it twice. You could see where it was swelling up already. They don't want to fix it. When we looked inside there were a bunch of cosmetic problems. The wood strip that runs long the seams has 1/2 inch gaps, or overlays where one strip would end and another start. This is all through the house. On the side of the fire place you can see the 2x4s through the concrete, and at the mouth of the fire place there are concrete drips that hang down.
My master bed has a large crack in the wall. On the bottom of the cabinets in the living room and bathroom are all jagged. The shelves inside the cabinets are the same. The door frames all were damaged in the move. They all have rub marks, and the framing is coming undone. In one of the bedroom closet there is a 1 inch gap between the door frame and the sheet rock. In the same closet there is a 1/2 inch gap in between 2 pieces of sheet rock. Plus in one of the corners the walls pulled apart making a gap. In the bathroom where the shower meets the wall there is a gap, and where the shower panel meets the tub. Plus it is bubbled out.
In our second living room the wood on the bar has a cut about a 4th of the way across. One of the cabinets have a pretty good knick out of the corner. In the kitchen as well as both bathrooms there is a very ugly rubber runner they placed between the back of the counter and the wall. It doesn't match, and stands out. I hate it. One of our up grades are missing. I hate it already, and we haven't even got to move into it yet. Just today they finished putting it together on the outside. They haven't even started to work on the seam on the inside. They say that might take another week or so. Also we payed extra for them to do the septic, and run water lines. Which still have to be done.
We were renting and gave a notice when we were told it would only be 8 weeks at the longest. Since it has been longer we have had to bunk in with family. We were so excited for it to be done so we could move in. Now we hate it and wish we could get our down payment back and get something else. They haven't kept one promise they made to us. Now we have to pay for, and live in this thing that looks like it will fall down around us if, and when we actually get to move in. If everything goes as planned we should be able to move into it in 3 weeks. It will probably be more like 5 or 6. By the time we can actually move in, it will have taken then about 5 months. Dawn of Imler, PA March 10, 2008
Dawn of Imler PA (03/10/08) We purchased a double wide Fleetwood home from Family Homes of Altoona Pa and are still having issues with the home. Such as still having a problem with the flooring at the marriage line in the dining room and in the living room, some of the fir strips are coming away from the wall, cracks in the ceiling that were pointed out and taken care of the first time are re-cracking, the doors won't stay open (entrance way doors). The cabinet doors in the kitchen are crooked. There is also an issue with the siding in spots around the home that had been mentioned to the manufacturer and to Family Homes that was not dealt with.
The heating in this home is frustrating, you either freeze or you roast. There is no happy medium. We are basically not happy with the purchase of this house (date of manufacture was August 18th of 2006) and we have only been in the home for almost 2 years. Yes, someone from family homes would come out or someone from Fleetwood would come out to do some repairs, but it was like pulling teeth to get someone here. We just want to know if anyone else had any problems with their home like we did and what we can do to have it fixed. David of Stillwater, OK March 10, 2008
