Affordable Southern Homes

A reader writes:
I went to purchase a maufactured home from an Emanuel W. (Sales Manager) for Affordable Southern Homes on Nov of 99. When I talked to Mr. W. the impression he gave me was my loan was "approved" and I would be in my home before Jan of 2000.

I gave Mr. W. $5,400 (check) to secure a lower interest rate for my loan. The process got delayed and rescheduled to close on Feb 12 2000. As I went to closing date of Feb 12 2000, I was informed that my loan was "not approved."

So I sent Affordable Southern Homes a letter asking for my refund of ($4,900) , the other $500 went to the owner of land. As I spoke with Mr. W., he replied with the statement " I got your letter and threw it away."

Dealing with this company has put my family and I under a lot of stress. This home was supposed to be for my mother and her dogs.
