Kentucky Oaks Homes

Jason of West Frankfort, IL, writes:
In March 1999, I purchased a home from Kentucky Oaks. I was told that I needed to pay before they could order the home.

We had a fire in Jan. losing everthing. Our insurance company wrote us a check for the home we lost and we got a loan for the rest. Therefore we paid Kentucky Oaks.

Finally our home arrived on their lot. And that's where it sat for 6 weeks. We were given every excuse from the weather to no delivery men, etc. We called on a daily basis to check the status and was given what seemed a valid excuse each time.

Now we come to April. We were told that the home would be delivered that month. Of course there was rain, but also good days. Still no home. We had given notice to move out of the house we were renting on the first of the month and it had been rented to someone else.

So, now we are on the 3rd of May and they finally bring our home, but that's all they do. It is the 7th of May and our home is sitting on our lot in 2 pieces. We are at a loss as to what to do next.

Mr. B has actually told us that they were busy delivering other houses and would get to us the next day, but the next day never comes. Meantime we are homeless and Kentucky Oaks knows this.

We have a 10 yr. old son with nowhere to call our own. We have paid for a home that we do not have. We have been through a fire, lost everything! We paid for something we do not have! What can we do to get our home.

We have actually slept in the home with it separated. We are still waiting for the rest of our settlement and have taken time off from work to move in losing salary. Our nerves are in terrible condition. Not knowing what to do from day to day.
