Terri of Studio City CA (9/17/03):
These people are masters! Paul came to our house and by talking really fast and never quite explaining what was going on, got us to pay $329 for some beef. (Actually, he told my husband it was $329, the price on the invoice said $329, but somehow the total on the invoice was $339, and the check was $339. But heck! he threw in the chicken for free!)

When we figured out that we were paying about $10 per pound for mostly hamburger and chicken (nothing is free, after all) we called and told Troy, the manager, that we wanted to cancel the sale. He went around and around with me, saying that I sounded angry (who wouldn't be angry paying $10 a pound for chicken?) and that cancelling would be no problem as we were still in the three-day cancellation period, but didn't I want to serve my family the best meat possible?

He was so good that I agreed with him that I'd keep the meat. Ten minutes after I hung up the phone I came to my senses and called the bank to stop the check. My husband will be going to the Prime Selection office today to turn in the cancellation notice. I'm sure they will give him a bad time, but at least we're not out any money, and they can come get their meat anytime they want to. They're really great salespeople!

The cancellation should be given in writing just to be on the safe side. It would be best to send it via certified mail, return receipt requested.

Bridgette of Perris CA (9/12/03):
A salesman came to my door selling what he said was top choice meat -- the same kind that was used at Black Angus and Outback steakhouse. I was asked to try it and if I was not completely satisified to call the office for a refund or I could exchange the meat for whatever meat I liked. I bought three hundred dollars worth of steak, chicken and ground beef patties.

The southwest chicken was too hot for the kids and I just did not like the honey mustard flavor of chicken. I called the office on 7-1-03 and spoke to Tracy. I was told someone would be out to exchange the meat. After over a week I called Tracy back and told her that no one had come, she said she had forgotten, she was sorry, and someone would be out to exchange the meat within a week. I called back two weeks later and asked for a refund. I was told that was not an option, but someone would be out to exchange the meat.

It has now been two months and I am still waiting. I have left many messages, with no return call. I don't know who owns this company, but there is no customer service. They sure did not have any problem cashing my check. I see they have staff in the check cashing department. And to top it off, the meat is the same meat I could have bought at my local grocery store, for half the price or less.

Kim of Acton CA (7/24/03):
I was in my garage and heard a vehicle screech into my driveway. A young man exited and introduced himself as "Joe". The pickup truck had "Prime Selection" on the door and he handed me a brochure. My husband recently purchased steaks from another company, so I told Joe that I was not interested. He asked what we had previously bought. I opened my freezer to look and Joe walked directly behind me and reached into my freezer (over top of me!) to see for himself! He then asked to speak to my husband, because he told me that what I had was not his product.

I walked into my house and asked my husband to come out to ask this gentleman to leave. When I entered my garage, Joe had my freezer door open (I had previously closed it) and was going through my frozen food! I aked him what he was doing and he told me that he was "just looking". My husband and I were appalled at this young man's rudeness! I asked him twice for a business card prior to this incident. He said that he had one, but never gave me one.

I can tell you that I will never do business with your company because of this young man. I own my own business and am very strategic in sales, but I would never ... NEVER be so brazen. If this young man was in my employ, he would be looking for a new job this afternoon.
