I have had auto insurance with AIG throught an agency for over two years. I recently added my daughter to my policy and my insurance preimimum became outrageous. Therefore, I shopped around for a different company.
I called the agency that carried my insurance through AIG to cacel my policy. I canceled with the correct time period alotted for AIG to stop drafting paymaents from my checking account. AIG countinously drafted out of my account without authorization. This has yet to be resolved by AIG.

I have had the unfortunate experience of having to call AIG's Roadside (I hate to use the word service) Service it's more like the lack of service, two times. The first time I called for roadside service, I was driving on a rather hot day headed for National Airport to park my car and in the process of trying to find a place to park, I had a flat tire. I was on a very busy road with no place to pull off and get out of traffic so, I thought it would be best to call for service. I waited in the hot sun for about an hour and a half. AIG kept calling me on my cell to see if the service had arrived. I kept telling them the same thing, No, they have not arrived, and why is it taking so long? They asked if I'd seen anyone drive by looking for a broken down vehicle. I told them that I had not and then asked them, what was the name on the side of the truck? They said, he's not driving a truck, he's driving a car. Hmmm, I asked them why they didn't tell me that in the first place? I would have noticed a car! Anyway, he finally located me and opened the trunk of his car and pulled out a jack and replaced my flat tire with my spare....I missed my flight.
The last experience I had was yesterday. I was on the freeway and noticed my car was running hot. Not wanting to drive any further, I exited the freeway and found the nearest gas station. Of course the gas station didn't have potable water available so, I decided to call AIG for roadside service so that I could have them tow my car to my home. I called at 3:45 P.M and was told that they couldn't get anyone to me until 6:30 P.M. and that wouldn't be a guarantee, just an estimate. I asked them why would it take so long? I'm in a very busy area where there are many tow trucking companies within minutes of where I am. They said the only tow company in my area that they are contracted with was in Woodbridge, VA. I said, that's only minutes from where I am, why would it take them so long to get here? They said, you can call them if you like to see if they can get there any sooner.
I took their number and tried calling them but after about 50 attempts to reach them because the line was busy each time, I finally gave up. The only thing I want to say about AIG's roadside service is that it's not any kind of service. I will be changing insurance companies very soon. I won't be leaving for any other reason than for the lack of their roadside service. I will gladly return to my previous insurance company even if the rates are higher. I want everything an insurance company can offer in my contract..including service.

I have had AIG insurance for a couple of years, the monthly amount never stays the same,if you can recieve a bill from them, but they can sure send a cancellation notice.I have had nothing but problems with them.
My agent called me and told me i had cancelled (which I didn't know) and had to pay 90 something dollars to be reinstated without a laspe,, being fed up with them i switched insurance companys when AIG found out they cancelled(again) my insurance, so for 6 days i went without insurance(they took my money though)from April 3rd to May 9th I paid them almost a 6 months premium and still owed more. Anyone mentions to me that they are thinking about Aig I will do everything in my power to talk them out of it.

On March 14 2008 one on their Insured opened his door as he was getting out of his car and hit the right back rear side of my car. As I approached the individual to obtain Insurance information he got back in his car and took off. I got back in my car and followed him and wrote down his license plate. Where the incident happened is where the individual works at Catering place and there is where I spoke with employees to call him to come back to take care of this matter. The following Sunday I went back to place of employment and finally obtained his insurance information.
Monday morning I called AIG and gave them a recorded accident report of the incident. I also went to their auto body repair was given an estimate and pictures were taken of the damage done to my car and faxed to AIG. The adjuster advised me as soon as they hear from their insured they will take of this matter. As of today the insured has not been cooperative and has not called to report the accident. I have been following up with the adjuster Cynthia Queseda and branch manager John Ackley and they advise me there is nothing they can do until the insured calls them as to what happened. I advised them that this person is not going to cooperate because he was very rude with me. John Ackley states that they have written letters, phone calls have been to house and as of today no response. I asked them if the insured does not call then what and his response is they need to hear from the insured.
I feel very frustrated that this matter will not be taken care and will be forgotten. Its very clear that the insured was at fault, he hit the back right rear side of my car. What happens in a situation like mine shouldnt I get paid if the insured does not make an effort to call the Insurance Co. I hope this complaint will help others in my situation. Please help and get this complaint out to the highest authority at AIG and maybe I will be heard. Thank you very much.

I have joined AIG auto insurance more than 10 years and they canceled my auto insurance without letting me know. When they sent me the letter saying they did not receive the payment, I called back to make partial payment and then later on they just cancelled my insurance without letting me know!

The driver of a car insured by AIG missed a turn at high speed, tore up my new brick walk way and my new lawn, and did over 2100 damage. Also did 2000 damage to my car parked my driveway.
It took over a year after repeated calls by me and my insurance company for AIG to pay the claim. The woman with whom I talked initially about getting my car repaired said I would have to wait until the the incident was investigated. They never called me after that and I had to repeatedly call them until finally, after a year, they sent me a check.

Just a follow-up. After contacting the Texas Department of Insurance and the Better Business Bureau with my complaint, this problem got resolved within a matter of days. It is just a shame that a person has to complain to the government agencies and consumer agencies to get results. This problem was, of course, blamed on a computer error.

They were informed to take out one payment per month from my account for my son, but instead they added someone else to the insurance and started deducting money for that person from my account without authorization from me. This has been going on since May 2006 and I just recently found out what was going on. I informed them that what they had done, but they are refusing to reimburse the money they took out without my consent. I feel like my money was fraudulently taken out and should be replaced. I tried to email them as well as call them to explain the situation and resolve the matter. If you need a copy of the email along with their reply, I will be more than happy to get that information to you.
The reason I was notified of the discrepancy was because this past month they took out a large portion at one time and as a result caused other checks that I had written to bounce. My bank is aware of the situation and is trying to work with me on paying the bank fees which have amounted to a great deal of money. This has been a stressful ordeal for me, because I trusted this company to bank draft my account for the money specified and nothing more, but they chose to go beyond my instruction and take money not meant for them. This has caused me a great deal of pain and stress and as a result my health has not been good. I have not been able to resolve this matter and I need assistance in getting them to understand what they did was wrong and that they took advantage of me and my situation.
