My original premium was fine, but at renewal the premium went up over 400 with no change in my situation. I canceled, but they are still sending me bills with notes threatening cancellation of my insurance (which I don't have with them anyway) and with collection. I guess they think they can bully the money out of me. I have since filed complaints with the state insurance board and with the Better Business Bureau. Beware of AIG.

I am a recent resident of the US, 34-year-old male. I got my first auto policy from Farmers for 6 months for 680. Renewal time came, and they reduced the premium slightly due to safe driving. Then for the third six months I shopped around, hoping with at least one year driving history I could get my rate reduced further. I got AIG; the rate was 600 for 6 months. Renewal time came, and they notified my rate will increase by 400. I had no change in policy, no accident, no ticket, nothing.
So I called them to verify. It took 20 minutes on hold, and I gave up. Second time I called it took 30 min. They told me that my license is less than 3 years. Yeah, so, my license was even less than 3 years six months ago. Anyway, AIG is not a very smart company. I told them they can cancel my policy right then and there. Insurance, lawyers and medical industries in US are awful, big time.

On Feb 11, 2008, I called and canceled my insurance. On Feb., 2008, AIG took 491.54 out of my account. I called and talked to Frank (a manager). He stated they noted the problem, and it would take over 14 days to get my money back.
They noted I canceled my account with them but still took money out of my bank account.

Last October, 2007 an AT&T Van hit my car which I had only bought 6 months before; the damages were quoted at 1500. A week later AT&T said that it was MY fault and that I need to pay their bill of 1200 to fix THEIR company van. I called my insurance, AIG, to report the accident; since then I STILL have not been reimbursed for the cost of the repairs for my car, 4 months later, even though I have FULL insurance! After speaking to my rep he said that they will NOT REIMBURSE ME and that AT&T will not accept responsibility for the accident either, so there is nothing they can do. Now AT&T sent me a letter saying if the bill is not paid it will go to collections, which will of course go on my credit.
Why can't AIG do their job and pay me for the damages to my car? I have had nothing but problems with this insurance company. I am switching as soon as this is over, after I take both AIG and AT&T to court. I really would like an attorney to help me get to the bottom of this. They don't care about their customers until legal action is taken against them.
I am constantly under emotional stress from this not being resolved. I pay over 120 per month for what? I paid 1466 to repair my car for which I have not been reimbursed from my insurance company.

My pick up was stolen in Tijuana- Mexico near to the border with San Diego county. It was a Chevy Silverado 2004. It was stolen two weeks ago. The insurance agent told me they only have coverage in the USA. I never received from my agent-broker the policy which said under which cases the insurance is valid or not. And until now I do not have any policy copy in my hands even when I tried to ask for it from the insurance company, which by the way is AIG. I called later as a new client asking for a quotation and the person who attended me and gave me a quotation said it covers 100 miles inside mexico country
I have an economical problem because I am still financing my vehicle and I am still debt 8,000.00 to Wachovia and also I am with out my car which is part of my working and living need.

I Moved in July and forgot to notify AIG of my change of address until a bill was forworded to me which reminded me to call and update them of the change. I only moved 29 miles away from my previous address but they informed me that they fee structure is based on zip code as well as other things. They told me my policy would increase affective that day. The total increase was 408/year. That is a 40% increase. I informed them that I would be calling around for quotes.
I contacted Progressive, who was very helpfull. They could give me the same coverage for a little less than I was originally paying. They looked up the 2 zip codes and said according to their records it should have only increased by 1.00. I contacted AIG when I got another bill from them for 34.00 to see what the charge was for. This was after my policy ran out and I called to cancel my policy. They informed me that had I not called to candel my policy they would still bill me another month past when my policy was up and I had to send them a copy of my new insurance card. AIG told me the 34.00 charge was for the differnece from the increase from when I notified them of the change of address (October 16, 2007 - November 16, 2007). Then they tried to get me to tell them when I actually moved so they could charge me MORE!

My 2005 Yukon was stolen on November 14, 2007. As soon as I was notified by my husband about the incident I called AIG right away to report the theft. After several days I wanted to know what the status on my vehicle was; they just told me that there was nothing they can do until the vehicle was recovered. If my vehicle was not found within 30 days they would make all the arrangements necessary to pay off my loan. My truck was recovered on the 29th day. AIG gave me the estimate for 2500 minus 1000 deductible, and sent me a check for 1500 without my consent. My husband took it to 2 body shops, and the estimates that were given to him are 7500. AIG wants me to repair my vehicle myself with only 1500, which is impossible.
The culprits stole my 3rd row seat, damaged the steering wheel, made several dents and scratches, broke side panels in interior, took my tires and several other things--also damages the left door lock. AIG told me to take care of a rental car myself, and they would reimburse me; but the rental car was 1400 for 30 days, and AIG wants to reimburse me 450 only. It's very unfair that I still have to stay stuck paying. I just want to file a complaint against them because I do not want this crooked insurance company to do this to more people.

AIG auto insurance went up 200 a year on me even when I have a good driving record. They say it's because of other drivers in Las Vegas. This sounds like Red Lining to me. Also AIG charged me (3) extra times more for my home insurance. some one needs to look into this company.
Having received a bill for 1755 more form AIG, also having to pay more on my auto insurance. I am retired.

We owned a nice 1993 Taurus LX station wagon, had leather, PW, PDlocks, automatic lights, and all the bells and whistles that Ford put on it. I had also just bought a set of Michelin tires for the car. The car had 103,500 miles on it and ran and looked great. It had previously been wrecked (branded title) when it had 17000 miles on it, but was repaired and was in fine shape all around.
My wife was in the WalMart parking lot in November 2007 and was backed into by an AIG client. The accident cracked the front bumper, put a large ding in the hood and cracked the right headlight assembly. As a result AIG refused to repair our car and instead totaled the car and is going to give us 1370 for the car. This was a perfectly good running automobile that had no serious problems. It was serviced at the local Ford dealer always. Legal thievery is what this is.
We are now without our car and will have to replace it at much higher cost than 1370.

In November of 2007, we cancelled the insurance policy and switched to a new company due to major savings. Now after cancelling, they have sent me a bill for the month after we cancelled. Now I cannot get a hold of anybody to talk to. They will not return my calls or respond to me.
