James of Lafayette Hill, PA June 23, 2009

On May 23 a car with 4 teens at 3:30 Pm came onto our property and struck and broka a utility pole which belonged to us as property owner. The car left the scene, but we got the license number and vehicle was located. Allstate is their insurer, claims no responsibility for our 4000 of property damage because the owner of the car says she was not driving. They are investigating, they say. The owners car has been repaired, the car was not reported stolen, but Allstate is dragging their feet to cover damage done because the vehicle owner is not forthcoming. Allstate has stockholder interests as a primary consideration, not customers

Darren of Dahlonega, GA June 23, 2009

On Friday, May 8, 2009, I was making a left-hand turn off Hwy. 60 to 7-Mile Hill. A car was on 7-Mile Hill coming into Hwy. 60. The car did stop, but then continued on into Hwy. 60 and broadsided me as I waited to turn. My truck was not drivable and was towed. It sat at the garage from May 8 until May 18 before Allstate sent their adjuster.

Now they are holding me liable for 10% of the storage fee as well as 10% liable for the wreck itself! Why? Who knows. Seems Allstate does their own determinations. When you telephone, they are always going to have someone call you back. If it happens to be Friday, don't expect a call back until Monday. Then another rep will call and have to consult with someone else and so on and so on and so on..... My accident was May 8. It is now June 22 and my claim is still unresolved. Yea, you're in good hands with Allstate if you are money!! They hold on forever.

My car was broken into. my drivers side window was busted and my GPS was stolen. when I called in the claim I was told that because the GPS was not a permanent part of the car it is considered personal property and wont be covered.

I am appauled. the thiefs specically broke into my car for that GPS system and now Allstate is refusing to ackowledge the claim?

Jessica of jacksonville, FL June 18, 2009

I have had insurance from allstate Since i was 16 years old. i have never had a problem till now. I was in a accent on june 17, 2009 at 5 am. I reported the clain on june 17, 2009 at 330 pm. I hit my SUV. I went through the claim proces and made my appt. for friday. The next day I got a call saying that they will be unable to cover my cars because they cancelled my insurance on may 31, 2009. I was not notifid about this at any time.

I had a problem with get my bill since i started my 2nd six months on this pol. and i was unaware that they upped my Rate. for no reason. I had contacted 1800allstate in march to find out what my payment was. and they told me it had not change. then on my wedding day they called me to tell me i was short 42 and some change and if it wan't payed my the 31st of may that i wouldn't have insurance. So i gave the girl my card number so it would be straight till i was done with my honeymoon.

The guy i have been dealing with has told me that he is looking into it. but he had not record of any payment till the 16th of june. but they had my check on may 29th so it took them that long to cash my check. he can't explain why they are still cashing my checks if i have not canceled my ins. then they are taking my money and not providing a service.

So now i am stuck not being contacted tell me that my insurance was cancelled. it being now 18day past the cancelation day and now they wont fix my cars because someone [messed] up on there end. I have two damange cars and have no insurance to cover because someone didn't prosses a payment that i made the day of my wedding. what is the point of paying for someonething that once you need it the next day they will call and say sorry but we wont cover it when they cash a check the day before?

I strongly agree with the poster who advised you are not in good hands with Allstate. My primary complaint with them is they consider the police report invalid if their client is at fault, or at least that has been our experience with them. Secondary complaints are lack of communication and respect to the third parties involved. Here is our experience with them that we continue to work digently for a resolution. I was involved in a car accident and the other driver carried Allstate as his insurance.

A police report was filed at the scene of the accident and the other driver was found at fault. This accident occured nearly 6 weeks ago and we just received the claim check from Allstate. We have called Allstate numerous times prior to receiving the check and we just recently was able to speak with our claim representative. Her response to us when when we inquired why we haven't received our check yet, she acted surprised and asked if we received it yet. (Um, no, that's why we are calling Allstate to follow-up). At this point, several weeks already passed. Thank goodness the car is still drivable. It seems they forgot to send the check and we eventually received it. We were shocked to see they only sent us a check for half the damage and no explanation included with the check!

I guess this explains why our rep was avoiding all of our phone calls. After following up with a manager, our claim rep failed to communicate that she decided to only approved it for half the estimate and felt it in her right to split the liability 50/50 between the 2 drivers, despite having a police report indicating their driver was the only one at fault. When the manager reviewed the police report, she started to back pedal when she saw the other driver was the one who was cited and advised she would have to speak with the claim rep before providing any extra information.

We are still working to get this mess cleaned up. Also, Allstate has sat on this money so long that our estimate is now expired which they are fully aware since they have a copy of this estimate in their file. It's beyond frustrating the hoops you have to jump through for them to honor the claim when their driver is the one at fault. This extra stress caused by Allstate is unnecessary and definitely not appreciated during my third trimester of pregnancy. And the sad thing is we have Allstate service one of our insurance policies, but after this ordeal, we will never rely or pay Allstate to "keep us in good hands." They are going to lose, and continue to lose, good customers over these minor insurance claims for the sake of holding onto this money as long as they feel they can get away with it.

The interest they have made by continuing to delay our full, entitled payment is going to be very minor for them once they compare to how much money they will really lose when we make an educated decision to not renew our current or any future policy with them.

Bought & paid up front for 6 months of auto insurance on a 7 year old car, low mileage, good discounts - great driving record - never had an accident - on and on. Sales rep was very helpful & got me very good discounts. Just received notice in mail that this policy was canceled & money refunded only 10 days after purchase. Called the 800 number, got INDIA, asked for AMERICA, got transferred to yet another state (planet?), and finally got through after 20 minutes, to someone who finally tracked the problem to an some paperwork problem. They WOULD not renew the policy & I would have to purchase a new one. Transferred to a new sales agent, 10 minutes later I got a quote that was DOUBLE the original policy, reason MY POLICY HAD BEEN CANCELED. I ASKED AND SPOKE TO A SUPERVISOR, and yet another customer support [rep], and got the same response. All because they messed up some paperwork somewhere & would not fix the problem.

i switch my insurance company and went to Allstate on march 16,2009 my agent mane is Damonique, i gave her every paper she requested from me and my previous insurance company which is Ocean Harbour. i pay all fees plus one month in advance and set for automatic withdrawal each month. i got my insuance cards, my policy everything in the mail. in May ,09 i got a letter from allstate stating my policy will be cancelled on 7/9/09. because they did not recieved the proper paper from my previous insurance company.

i call allstate spoke with a rep he told me to fax the declaration page, which i did. now am told it is required by allstate for me to have Bodily Injury insurance before i can have a policy with them. i was never told that before i was sign and i provided my agent with my previous insurance policy that clearly shows i didnt have that. i had only PIP AND DAMAGE INSURANCE. now if that is a requirement for allstate why was i not told at the begining and why did i recieved a policy from allstate in the first place.

Deborah of Indian Trail, NC June 8, 2009

Allstate has advised me that they are refusing to pay all my chiropractic bills because they say they are above customary charges. My chiropractor said his prices have been the same for the last 10 years and has not had any problem in getting them paid. Since Allstate refuses to pay for his bill, he has put a lien on my settlement. Allstate told me they could not pay me for lost work going to and from the doctor or the hours I had to lay on my back with ice and heat after seeing him.

They have only offered me 1,800; 400 of which they owe my doctor and that leaves me with 1,400 after an accident which cost 5.500 to get me car fixed when I was stopped at a red light and their client hit me. That was the total back half of my car. Don't you think I got hurt with impact injuries. This was not a bumper to bumper little hit. I am still having trouble with my neck and back and now my legs are swelling and Allstate said they would not consider anything else but giving me that lousy claim for 1,400.

Clear back in the 1970's I was in an acident. Went in to a coma. When I came out I had sezires. I never recived any personal insurance money from Alstate. I have been going to Drs. since and they have not taken care of it. When I relized what they din't take care of I was told it's over 7years. When I figured out what happened. I have been an eplispy ever since and just had to have my ear's operated on again.
