debbie of norco, CA May 29, 2009

My father is 87 yrs old, blind and I am his daugher and legal guardian. Allstate is holding 112 as "unclaimed" property". I found this information on the website. The deadline to recover property is to contact them BY 06/01/09 or the assets will be turned over to the State of California. Well the problem is I have called all the numbers as instructed, left messages on each phone extension and NO ONE RETURN'S MY CALLS. When I call they just say leave a message/name/number and they will return my call. Well, that has never happened.

I called and left messages on the above numbers on 5/15, 5/19 and today 5/29. I don't know what else to do. It could have been very easy to resolved. They had the wrong street address number and wrong appartment number. I also called Father's Allstate Insurance Agent, on 5/15/09, J.Comparetto and explained the problem. (as they still handle his appartment insurance) J. said he would send C. Pressley an email. I tried calling her today, and the message is "she's out for an extended period of time". So I don't know if she will ever see this email Juan sent her, until well after the fact.

Paul of Crandon, WI May 23, 2009

Purchased house insurance in March of 2009. I changed from and canceled another company as the premiums were better from AllState. Evidently due to an apparent home inspection previously on May 21st of 2009 I recieved a cancelation notice stating that due to a broken window in the garage my homeowners insurance has been canceled.

This is a 20.00 single pane window which was to be replaced by a better type of window. They did not even ask about the window status. I have never nor did I ever even think to report it as a claim.

I contacted the company as to the cancellation and they were to contact me. They have not. I have used home owners insurace claims twice in 35 years and both claims were for less than 5000.00 I also have auto insurance with Allstate and will be cancelling this ASAP.

I paid my insurance every momth. My apartment got broken into Sep 2008. I'm am still waiting for them to settle the claim I put in. They even sent an authorization form to my cable company. If something is stolen from your home, how would a cable company help out in your claim. I'm just frustrated that the system works like this. They wouldn't have let me wait a year to pay them and still be covered.

reginald of chicago, IL May 8, 2009

In 2007 during the storm season here in CHICAGO WE filed a claim for damages to our basement and some of our personal items which included clothing items-furniture-exercise equipment and other valuable invalubles[family photos]our claim was denied.... Now here it is May 2009 and my wife and i come to find out that the claim we filed in 2007 is still open on the companys files[allstate insurance] and our premium has gone up and up and up due to an open claim that we filed in 2007 and it was denied. ALLSTATE INSURANCE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES

Harold of Madisonville, KY May 6, 2009

Yolanda of Maywood, IL May 6, 2009

I received my homeowners renewal notice from Allstate in January 2009. My policy rates increased almost 600. Each year my rates would increase but never by such a large amount. So I notified Allstate that I would not be renewing this year. I used the internet to receive better quotes, and I have since received homeowners insurance from another insurance company for less than the allstate 600 increase. Now in May 2009, my Allstate agents keeps sending me this generic concern letter requesting payment. I called my agent several times regarding this matter, she will not return my calls. So I called the main number for allstate and was told my agent did not cancel the policy and that I would be responsible for the premium that is being sent to a collection agency unless I fax a copy of proof of insurance to them. I am going to do that today and hope this will be the end of my relationship with allstate.

John of Denver, CO May 4, 2009

The undersigned incurred an ALLSTATE INSURANCE COMPANY coveraged homeowner loss. ALLSTATE Insurance recommended for us to use its Kansas City based "Guaranteed Contractor" - Repairs Unlimited, Inc. to rebuild our damaged home. Repairs Unlimited never pulled applicable building permits and the City of Denver noticed the violations.Although advised of the builders fraud, ALLSTATE refused to honor its "ALLSTATE HOME REPAIR GUARANTEE" which purportedly covered Repairs Unlimited's activities. 44,179.00 in addition to still having to comply with the City of Denver's notice of construction violation(s).

John of Columbus, OH April 23, 2009

September 09 Hurricane Ike came all the way to Ohio. My roof was severely damaged, food lost due to nine days without electricity, Three trees down on the house. A year earlier I had a hail claim on my house. They paid about 3500 for that and 16,000 for the first, but only after I had to make a formal complaint with the Ohio Department of Insurance as they initially only wanted to pay out around 3000.00. Today (April 23, 2009) I received a notice that they will not renew my policy due to the claims. I suspect it might be that or they are redlining my home because of the number of foreclosures in my neighborhood.
