My Wife & I are Still trying to get Allstate Insurance Homeowners to pay for Damages to our Home which accured on Jan. 27 2009, They still say our Policy did not cover the Damages because of the Ice Storm that came through Kentucky ,which the President declared a State of Emergency for the State of Kentucky. & Allstate has yet to Prove to us that the Policy was not suppose to cover the Damage.

First off the tree limbs that fell on our house was From Wind, before all the Ice built up on the tree limbs. Ashley Burke(Allstate's Adjuster)ruled it Ice Weight ,When She was not here in Kentucky , to know what happened. Besides that, there is nothing in the Policy that says they are not suppose to Cover the Damages,....Loses they cover..Fire & Lightning , WINDSTORM & HAIL.....

Losses They Do not cover..Water From Bursted water pipe & Drain backup,ETC....Weather Conditions..(What is Windstorm,Hail,&Lightning? are they not Weather condition also?

We own about 20 rental houses in Chicao Suburbs and I have all state Insurrance since 1997 and had almost no claims all this time except last spring one of our rental properties caught fire almost 20 miles from our home caught fire and I was awaken by the fire dept to come to scene. It was March 11 and we had an attorney helping us and they kept making excuse that we didn't come diposition or this that and now almost a year later I had to contact the state of Illinois to get an answer that they are refusing to pay claim because they suspect we burned the house. They have been investigating and they never told us even though we have 30 policies with them. It would be absured for me to burn my worse property where I owe more then the property and it is 20 miles from my home.

It has taken them a year to tell us they won't pay claim and it has been quite a bit of hardship because we couldn't rent the property or fix it because it required too much money to fix it. I would never ever wish upon even my enemies to ever do any business with all state. This company is the biggest fraud there is.

We had a Standard Homeowners Policy , which they say did not cover Damage from A tree Limb Falling on our House , causing Major Damage to roof , & Rafters ,True there was A Ice Storm came through ,But also wind , And Wind Brought the tree Limb down first ,even if the Policy wasn't suppose to cover Ice Storm . But We have had other Insurance Persons to look at the Policy, and they couldn't see why an Ice Storm would not be covered.Even a Lawyer Friend of ours looked at the policy and he didn't see why our damage wasn't covered.

Loses We Cover, --#1 Fire & Lightning >#2 Windstorm & Hail > then on the other hand , Loses We Do Not Cover,--Weather Conditions , Isn't (Windstorm & Hail) consider Weather Conditions , They are trying to Pick and Choose want they want to cover ,No wonder Allstate is listed as the Worst Insurance Company.

We have really been under a lot of stress ,My wife has went to the Doctor for Blood work & her TSH Readings had changed because of Stress , So Both of us Has been Damaged Physically & Economicly.--Help,Help

I have had Allstate Homeowners insurance for over 40 years with out a claim through 5 homes. Been in my current home for 8 years, again with Allstate.

I get a phone call that they want to send an inspector to view my home. OK. I get a postcard saying my insurance may be cancelled unless I contact Allstate immediately. I call and they say three things.

1. My propane tank is not within a 30 foot range of the home.

2. I have dead branches hanging over the home.

3. I do not meet the 100 foot clearance of trees.

I called the county and they said 10 feet is all that is required for a propane tank. The dead tree limbs were a Black Oak tree that looses its leaves in the winter! The required 100 foot clearance is not applicable to our community with many 100 foot Douglas Fir trees.

When I pointed out all these error the state office of Allstate said I was in error and to fix the problems or they would not renew my policy.

I talked to California Fire Department and the person I talked to said I was the third caller this morning with the same question re the propane tank. He reiterated the California law about placement of a propane tank 10 feet or more from the residence or property line.

It is reasonable to expect Allstate will drop me because they are intimidating property owners who live in wooded areas. I called three other insurance companies and they were willing to take me for about 100 less that I was paying Allstate. I selected State Farm. Good by Allstate.

Universal Insurance insured my home(I went through Allstate)after 90 days universal decided to cancel my policy due to an old circuit Breaker unit and shody exterior paint. Janet at Allstate told me if I rectify the issues they will reinstate me. I spent 750.00 for a new circuit breaker box and painted the entire house (another 200.00 + two weekends of labor)and Universal had no intention of reinstateing my policy, I recieved my check for the unused premiums and that was it. I couldnt afford this but did it to keep insurance, when I was cancelled the replacement insurance company told me those two things didnt matter.
