Geico start special investigation and did not finish yet. Now i have no car and i have to pay for it, because representative told me it is a Company regulations beside of that Geico almost double-up my premium.
Deborah of Buxton, ME August 23, 2008
Deborah of Buxton ME (08/23/08) 2 days ago I got a call from geico. Im qm canceled and to call by friday to reimberse my policy, Im only 7 days late with said payment she informs me everything will be alright by friday, So I called friday and I spoke to two men one man put me on hold even after her got my visa # and the 2nd man said call with visa card again on fri/ Sat. so I called on Sat after our check cleared with our bank, the 2nd man quoted me a price of a renual fee 112. and 52. a month and have has geico for 2 1/2 years, geico says there insurance company cant insure me. I was with them for all this time and Im refused?
something smells real bad with geico, there trying to say I was involved in a car accident I wasnt, I was in to accidents but neither my fault, rear ended in 9/07 and a tractor tralor ran a red light side swiped me with my 2 week old grand child in the back seat, the tractor tralor demolished my car, I no longer have anymore, but It was not my fault and geico at the time had me pay for 500. for the deductible. I got a great lawyer and he was apauled with geico's wrong guidence and I should have never paid for a deductable, the chief of police said it was totally the trucker fault even a whitness came forward, now I was not at fault for eather accident,
today is August 23,08 and geico clamed I had an accident on November 1,2007 with no proof of an accident, someone at there office put down I had an accident on November 1, after crying I called a reputible insurance agence and got insurance.
Daniel of Ridgefield, NJ August 21, 2008
Daniel of Ridgefield NJ (08/21/08) When I initially opened a policy with GEICO I was quoted a premium based on my credentials, etc. I was quoted a policy for a 12 month period from one of their representatives. I verified twice that it was in fact 12 months. I was ok with the amount and went about my merry way.
When I initally recieved documentation from GEICO I noticed that it was a 6 month time span that my premium covered. I thought it was a mistake and figured I would call and rectify it. As it turned out, I was told by a customer service rep that it was in fact a 6 month premium. I was irrate and had it out with a monager their to no avail. I bared and grinned it and angry as I was went on with my normal routine.
Recently my policy was cancelled due to a non payment. I added collision to my policy and had to pay x amount of dollars. I had another payment due shortly thereafter and never received any notice. The next phone call I got was after my policy was cancelled for 5 days to reinstate. That really steams me.
I had to pay double what I was quoted by a representative to cover me for 12m months. My concern, I was lied to. Asif of Saint Paul, MN August 19, 2008
Asif of Saint Paul MN (08/19/08) I filed a comprehensive claim for a paint damage, geico did not pay for it.
Then I filed another claim for windshield, but in the online system I put wrong date accidentally. Geico did not pay for it saying I did not have glass coverage at that date. But when I called to let them know about wrong date that I put accidentally. They did not listen, and constantly said that I have to pay that myself
I had to pay everything even though I had coverage Stephen of Alexandria, VA August 8, 2008
Stephen of Alexandria VA (08/08/08) Our 19 year old son purchased a vehicle from a private individual while out of state at college. The car had bad brakes. The brakes failed within the first 2 or 3 days of purchase, and he hit another vehicle. His was a late model vehicle, and the damage exceeded the value of the car. We donated the vehicle to a charitable organization. The owner of the other vehicle eventually submitted a claim.
Ever since that time, GEICO has been investigating the claim to establish whether we owned the vehicle at the time of the accident. Since my son had actual use of the vehicle for only a few days and bought it from a private individual whom he didn't know, there is no bill of sale. It took a lot of jumping through hoops to obtain a copy of the out of state title, and that was provided to GEICO. We provided copies of his payment on a loan he took out to purchase the vehicle. GEICO says the copy of the title is not good enough because it is dated after the accident. The loan papers are not acceptable because the loan was not secured by the vehicle. In short, all the documentation we have provided is not acceptable to them.
So now, they send us threatening letters to essentially put us under oath and take depositions. Is this how you treat a 30 year customer? Review the facts: A 19 year old kid buys a defective car. The brakes fail, and he hits a car. He provides evidence he has been paying on the car. He has evidence he held title to the vehicle. If he did not own the vehicle when he wrecked it, why would a 19 year old kid buy a wrecked car he would never get to drive? And if he did not own the vehicle at the time of the accident, wouldn't we have let the previous owner deal with all this hassle? GEICO refuses to accept the obvious and now treats us like we are engaged in fraud or something, instead of the loyal customers we have been over the past 30 year.
They refuse to acknowledge the obvious conclusion that can be drawn on the facts and do not even offer an alternative scenario to explain the facts that have been provided. Readers, it is a bit shocking to find that a company you trusted is only too willing to throw you overboard on the slightest whim. We are totally fed up and will be taking our business elsewhere, something our 30 year record of loyalty would suggest is something we do not do on a whim.
Right now, the consequences are the aggravation of being sent threatening correspondence. The potential consequences are GEICO's potential refusal to pay a just claim
