Find the Best Deal and Apply! - Adv. tammy of madison, AL August 29, 2009 A client of Geico, pulled out onto oncoming traffic, in Huntsville, al. She ran her red light and pulled out on to the right, as she hit my daughter in the right fender, My daughter was traveling west bound on a 7 lane hwy in the city. The client was on her cell phone and did noat realize that her light had turn to red. as she proceeded she side swiped my daughter's car and have cause damage to the turn of around 2100.00 plus the lost of the car for a few weeks, until I got it approved to drive. I have not fixed it yet, as she is disputing the claim, the city police report plainly states that it was the lady's faught for pulling out into on coming traffic. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THIS IS NOT OVER, I AM FILING SUIT, AND THEY WILL NEED TO CONVEINCE THE JUDGE WHY THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW, AND NOT RESPECT THEY POLICE REPORT! jennifer of post falls, ID August 29, 2009 i was in a car accident may 30 and now i got a thing from the company that saying that i was 25 percent at falt for what ever. there reasion is and he is 75 percent at falt and ect. i hit my head and my back i have a hard time rememebr ing things. i have not ben the same sence. then i go get therapey for it and it helps a bit not much. watch out of the geico. when they are in the wrong they will well u know Tewonda of West Columbia, SC August 5, 2009 I was involved in an accident where a insured driver with geico ran a red light as I was turning to enter a freeway. The driver admitted to running the light to my insurance company and he also admitted to running the light at court. The ticket was dropped because I had a green turn arrow allowing me to turn. The driver failde to stop and i hit him on the side of his car. my car was totaled and geico is saying I was careless and not being a defensive driver. My insurance has doubled because of subrogation andGeico is only offereng to pay me 300 to settle this claim. Kathryn of Hoffman Estates, IL July 31, 2009 I was involved in an accident in Missouri on my way to my parents. There were no other vehicles involved but my car was totaled. The car is a 2009 Aveo that I purchased last year. GEICO assessed the "value" of the car and made an offer of 13545. I owe 14540 but based on book value of the car I thought this acceptable even though the car had very low miles and was in pristine condition. I would use savings to pay off the additional 1000 owed. The very next day the adjuster called and informed me that they were deducting an additional 1000 from the settlement because I was given a rebate when I purchased the car. I asked what the rebate had to do with the assessed value and is this anywhere in the contract or insurance agreement. I was told that this not in the contract and is standard procedure for them. I told them that his seems arbitrary and if it is not stated in the agreement then they are playing fast and loose with the rules. I have filed a complaint with the state attorney generals - consumer protection division. I will probably seek the advice of a private attorney as well. My advice to anyone considering using GEICO. Don't ... Linda of Springfield, OH July 31, 2009 I was starting to back out of a parking space but waited when I saw a car moving behind me. I put on my brakes, having barely moved and while still in the parking space. I jumped out to investigate while the other driver continued out of the parking lot. I saw that he had scraped paint off of approx. two-thirds of my bumper. A witness in the car next to mine ran over & gave me the guy's license plate and her name & phone. I chased the other driver to his next stop and asked him if he knew he had just hit my car. He had no idea and didn't believe me until we looked at the paint from his car that had scraped off on my bumper and at the damage done to his right front bumper. I, and the local Geico adjuster who LOOKED at my damage thought it was obvious that the Geico-insured driver was at fault, but an adjuster in another state decided it was partly MY fault because of my "failure to take evasive action." According to a letter from Geico's "investigation, the percentage of negligence apportioned to (me) is 15%," basically because I didn't get out of their insured's way! My car was sitting in a parking space, the other driver hit the BACK of my car with the FRONT of his car, then drove away, yet Geico decided I was 15% at fault. GREGORY of TAMPA, FL July 29, 2009 My wife and I were hit in the rear by an uninsured driver. We took our car to be fixed and told them a noise started in the dash of the SUV. They kept the car for a week then tell us they are not going to fix it because they think it was not caused by the accident, the noise was not there before. Then they say they called Lexus and was told that this is a common thing with these cars, Lexus stated to me they would never say that over the phone. My wife was also injured but she is taking care of that part. Tracy of West Palm Beach, FL July 27, 2009 I was involved in an accident on 3/5/09. I was on my way to work, following behind a white toyota corolla. The white toyota corolla was following behind a torquiose ford ranger. The ford ranger decides to stop short causing the corolla to slam on the brakes. My reaction was to go into the median to avoid the accident all together. The corolla also decides to go into the median. As a result the corolla driver side and my passenger side collided. The police showed up and warned us both that we were probably following too closely but the fault is neither mine nor hers solely. I filed a claim with GEICO that same morning. The minimum wage representative taking my information spit out a statement, "Well ma'am, according to the information you have provided, you are at fault for this accident". Excuse me, how could you possibly make such a statement? I was told that because I was behind the other vehicle, it was my fault. I explained that I refuse to take fault for this and to not make such a decision without allowing me to speak to someone with decision making authority. I was put through the ringer of, "We'll have a supervisor call you". In the meantime, they charged me with the accident, paid for the repairs on the other vehicle and sent my information to the DMV to go on my record as being at fault. It's been 5 months now, and I'm still fighting with them. Since when is my OWN insurance company the enemy in an accident? I thought your individual insurance was suppose to protect you? I have called again to speak to a supervisor or manager and I was told they would call me back and it would have go through the proper chain of command. Donnie of Mt. Pleasant, SC July 16, 2009 They advertise great rates, but that is not what you get. MISLEADING!!!! They will surcharge you to death!! Reputable insurance companies don't surcharge for parking tickets and other non-moving violations; GEICO DOES! They will surcharge you for traffic tickets, even if they are dismissed! Jennifer of West Hollywood, CA July 15, 2009 My car was parked at Whole Foods in West Hollywood backwards, so the front of the auto towards the store. A passer-by, said he saw an old couple in a Cadillac hit the car and drive away. My license plate and holder were on my hood, but there were no major external damages in the front. The car was pushed into a wall so the tail lamp had a small crack which grew overnight. So my friend recommended I go to Eurasian her friend's Shop to get a new tail light as mine went out and I didn't want anything leaking into the casing. So I stopped by a few places I ended up at Eurasian, Joe the owner said I should really make sure there is no internal damage to the vehicle as their was a slight bit of condensation in the Left tail light. I agreed. I wanted the light covered, I reported the incident to Geico, I was given one of 3 loaner cars from Eurasian. One was safe the others were salvaged and the Highway patrol pulled me over and wanted to impound the scion I had for 2 months with no Air conditioning. No WW fluid, bald tires. enough said. So the adjuster from Geico came out, I was never given a quote ....The fees were approx 15,000 and I picked up my Porsche(It's a 1999)May 30th, my tail light was still out. I had to run an errand on the way to take my car back as there was condensation in both tail lights and it was side swiped in a parking spot while I was inside a building. So I took the car in, at 1:30 PM, I was given no estimate, no invoice, NOT EVEN WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR FINALLYI just picked up my car July 6, 2009. And when I arrived to Eurasian my car was dead as a doornail, the passenger window had no tint as the rest of the windows do, the front pass. tire was supposed to be replaced, the charges were an additional 4,000.00. The ignition is broken, and Joe the owner told me there was a key stuck in the car since I dropped it off. Not true, I called the dealer where I bought the key and that is not my key!!!!!!!! The airbag light is on, the radio does not work. The vehicle has been charging for 3 days and will not start. The driver arm rest is broken, the driver tint on the front window(driver side is terribly scratched, deep in several places), the alignment was not done. Geico is of no help to resolve this matter. I am in Las Vegas helping my mom who is blind in one eye from Cancer and Geico is telling me to drive a vehicle which won't start to Los Angeles. They said they have no place for me to take the car in Las Vegas.I stopped at a body shop on the way out of town, (I left LA the day I picked up my car as I cant leave my mother alone)the estimate is 9000.00 to fix just external, obvious parts of the vehicle. The gentleman said a lot of the parts claimed to be replaced were not and the hood has a huge dent in it and paint bubbles, as well as the car has a broken passenger arm rest and broken ignition. AND THE air bag LIGHT IS ON. iF YOU ARE LUCKY AND CAN GET THE CAR TO START. Please help if you can advise, Eurasian is ignoring me, my car I paid for myself is ruined. Geico says that because I did not choose a Geico shop they will not help me facilitate the repairs Valerie of King of Prussia, PA July 10, 2009 I have a complaint against GEICO Insurance Co: FACTS: I had a car accident on June 3, 2009, on Henderson Rd and S. Gulph Mill Rd, in King of Prussia, PA. The accident was caused by a Geico insured, Mr. Saket D, who recognized his fault, confirmed by the Police report. Unfortunately Mr. D was not driving his own car, but a new Mitsubishi Gallant, a car he rented from AVIS. 1. Though I called Geico repeatedly, it took more than three weeks for the GEICO to adjustor to show up to see the car. The estimate of the damages was 2,167.16, with the mention to be repaird in 7 days, but nothing happened and the car has not been repaired even today. The estimate includes only body repairs though I told adjustor that after the accident, I tried to drive to Philadelphia and the car vibrates on the front, which scared me of driving; I was told that something must be wrong and I should not drive it. 2. I have to contact GEICO many times, and after a period of total lack of response, though GEICO recognized that it was their insured fault, the examiner finally tells me that they cannot pay my damages because they were done by a rented car. They would pay if Mr D would have drive his own car. Mr. D is fully insured with Geico and was told that he can use his own insurance when renting a car. 3. We are now in week #6 after the accident and GEICO claims that they are still investigating and waiting or some kind of report from AVIS Rental Co, (what for???), they refuse to fix my car, to give me a rental car, but give me instead the run around. 4. I am seventy years old, I live in King of Prussia and due to current economic situation, I have to work at my age to support myself and to help a son with disabilities. I commute to Philadelphia for work. I need the car badly. For more than a month I had to beg for rides, or take 2 buses, to wait in the storm and sometimes heavy rain, very difficult for a 70 years old woman. GEICO does not care. 5. TO add insult to injury, GEICO sent me, in this 6 week period, not one, but TWO LETTERS inviting me to join them for their good rates and services (?). 6. The law in Pennsylvania says that the car insurance is mandatory for property damages, and the other party in the accident Mr. Das assured us that he is fully insured to the satisfaction of the Police Officer. GEICO made Mr. Das believe that he is fully insured. No specification is made in his policy about not being insured if he drives a rental car. I know that for a fact, because the Examiner, Ms Amy Munro, told me very clearly that she needs time to search, to investigate, to find out who is going to pay; she needs to see the rental agreement and talk to AVIS Rental people, to see if they would pay. Apparently Ms. Munro and her boss cannot figure out how they insure their own people, or knowingly and purposely, and fraudulently, they take money from the insured, hiding the fact that they are not insured when driving a rental car, though by law they must insure us property damage while driving. How we, the innocent insured people, could know if GEICO’s own Agent/Examiner cannot read and comprehend their own policy to make a decision. They just keep me in suspense with their research and investigating procedures, postponing as far as they can. This is the sixth week, just waiting. Please publish my complaint. GEICO advertizes heavily their services on the media, especially on several TV channels right now. I want the world to know how they are paying their own claims (or not paying).
