Save up to $379 on Your Auto Insurance. Compare Quotes from Top Providers Now! Find the Best Deal and Apply! - Adv. Roberto of Hyattsville, MD July 10, 2009 On June 10 2009 due to torrential rains, the street in front of my house flooded while I wasn't home and my 2001 VW Passat was sumerged under water up to above the axles, inside of the car was filled with rain water up to the bottom of the gear shifter or console which electronics (computer and module) and wires also were sumerged under water. Geico made up a list of similar vehicles for sale in the area but the highest price was just around Geico's offer which I tried to prove different by obtaining a list myself of cars for sale with cars selling for more than what Geico claims. Geico has given me the runaround, the claim adjuster has been very irresponsable, she was one and a half hour late for her estimate appointment, she said she would call with a offer to compensate what she called TOTAL LOSS, she did not call two hours later but the next day at 8:30 AM, immidiatly i requested to see personally a supervisor with a date, time and location for the meeting and she got extremely agitaded which she responded by sending a package of papers explaining why she would only pay 6,700.00 for my car. She never made arrangements to speak with a supervisor. After almost one hour on the phone trying to get an appointment with a supervisor dealing with several people I finally got Mr.Mike W to come to my house the next day. Me and Mr. Mike W disscused the issues about the poor service and the runaround given by Geico to which he stated: Mr R, we can not talk about any issues anymore because you have TREATENED MY JOB AND THE JOB OF DEBI S FOUR TIMES! I replied to Mr. Mike W that he had not come to my house under no threats and he would be leaving under no threats and the reasons why he came to see me was to hear from me about the runaround and unfearness of their process also because i am very disgusted with their services. Mr. Mike W did not contact me at all after that neither anyone else from Geico, I made two phone calls different days to have someone give me the status of my claim and nothing was possible. I called the office of Geico's President and spoke with Mr. Mike W about the issues and he promised to get back to me in less than 24 hours. In less than 24 hours I received a UPS packacge with one sheet of paper in it with the same 6,700.00 previous offer for the car and nothing else. At on point, on or around the 2 of July 2009 I called my Agent's office to ask questions about my insurance coverage, if any prorrated discount to my account for having the TOTAL LOSS automobil sitting in front of the house paying insurance, tags and continue to make payments to VW Credit for a car I can not drive anymore, also to ask about the status of my claim and I was told by Mr. Tom P: Roberto you have called this office many times with the same problem and we can not help you, do not call here anymore, we do not have anything to do with Geico anymore! The next day on the 4 of July, I rode my motorcycle to Frederick, Maryland and looked for the Geico Office on Buckeystown Pike and it is there, it is open to the public and I am even a lot more unhappy about the way Geico has given me the runaround, the claim still has not been settled, I have requested a payment of 9,200.00 for my vehicle and they refuse to pay it. karen of charlottesville, VA July 10, 2009 I was rear-ended by a GEICO insured driver while I was stopped in a line of cars at a red light. The woman was issued a citation by police. Almost two years later, GEICO refuses to reimburse me for the three thousand approximate out of pocket costs I had for medical tests/treatment due to the accident. The agent assigned to my case ignores my calls; other agents say they will have her call me. I have no choice but to file a lawsuit just to get my reimbursement. marianne of youngsville, NC July 6, 2009 A GEICO insured client ran a stop sign running 45 mph and plowed into my vehicle, which is a total loss. This was on April 10, 2009. The driver lied to the police officer and stated he was on the road I was on and vice versa and that he was ONLY traveling 20 mph. The Wake Forest police woman could not tell who was at fault at the accident scene, even though his vehicle traveled twice as far as mine. Later on, the GEICO driver called the Wake Forest Police Dept. and admitted fault stating he did not know where he was at, what road he was on, nor did he know the area. Guess what...he did not get charged with the accident. GEICO DENIED my claim. So, I spent 1800 having the accident reconstructed. The reconstruction clearly shows the GEICO driver traveling approximately 45 mph and that he NEVER slowed down for the stop sign. Therefore, he clearly ran it; thus causing the accident. GEICO still doesn't want to pay. Imagine that! They have so many stall tackets it isn't funny. Theodore of Lake Forest, IL July 4, 2009 I can not stand your commercials with that guy that sounds like he has a fake accent. I would not buy Geico solely because of those insulting commercials. I am at the point that I turn off the radio when that stupid gecko comes on. If I were you, I would get rid of that guy and those commercials. logan of graham, NC June 29, 2009 i filed a claim in may to reapair my truck which hit a deer and its june and they have not even tried to fix my truck yet Vicki of Bessemer, AL June 19, 2009 On April 16 I tried to close and get refund for my father's car insurance. When I tried to close the account I was told I could not because I was not on the account but had sent a Power of Attorney several years ago. They requested that I send a copy of the will stating that I was the executor, a letter stating that my father was deceased and proof of new insurance on the car, which I thought was none of their business but I sent all they requested. I was finally sent a check made out to the Estate of ??????. I was told by the bank I could not deposit it because we did not have an Estate account set up and would have to get the check reissued(which 3 others had already done) in my name. Called GEICO back and told them I needed the check in my name and they said to try another bank. And I asked that if they still wouldn't deposit it, could I get a letter from the bank explaining they needed it made out to me. I was under the understanding that they would reissue it with a letter from the bank. I had the bank fax a letter and GEICO still refuses to issue a check in my name. After two months I'm still trying to resolve the issue. I did every thing GEICO asked and they still refuse to resolve the issue. If I was asking for something unreasonable I would understand but I was asking that the name on a 169.65 check be changed so it could be deposited. shauniqua of haverstraw, NY June 18, 2009 My accident claim has not been resolved. These people are refusing to resolve and close my claim. They are refusing to pay for all the damages when I am 100 not at fault. I am being given the run around regarding my cars damages Y. of Riverdale, NY June 10, 2009 My husband's motorcycle was stolen from the front of our apartment building on March 2nd. We contacted GEICO to file a claim and they dismissed it, stating we never had comprehensive/collision coverage. We asked for comprehensive coverage when we began the policy by phone in September of 08, but it was apparently never processed. We have four voided policies with errors because GEICO made continuous mistakes when we were attempting to start it, as well as the fact that they never added the lienholder information even though we provided it at the time of inception. The lienholder, HSBC, subsequently never followed-up with coverage and the motorcycle was not properly covered, despite the fact that we thought it was. I have sent numerous letters to GEICO and HSBC, as well as having had filed a complaint against GEICO with the NYS Dept. of Insurance. I have also repeatedly requested the recorded telephone calls from September proving my verbal request for comprehensive/collision coverage, but they have yet to comply. GEICO did, however, send a response to the NYS Dept. of Insurance wherein they proceeded to create a fabricated timeline of calls and events that not only never happened, but that I have recorded proof to the contrary. Despite my many calls and complaints, no one has done anything yet, and we continue to pay 230 a month to HSBC for a motorcycle we do not have in our possession. I am now in the process of starting a civil suit against GEICO in New York Civil Court. I know that as consumers it is our responsibility to review any documents given to us, but as an insurance layperson, unless it is specifically outlined that the policy does NOT bear the coverage we believed it did, how was I to know it was not sufficiently covered? Is it not safe to assume that as a consumer I should receive the amount of coverage that I requested? Nevertheless, I am now awaiting a court date in the hopes that this matter will be resolved, finally. I continue to pay 230 a month for a motorcycle I do not have in my possession. Mark of Pensacola, FL June 9, 2009 Geico Insurance Company is a joke. I signed up with them online. There were very confusing multiple forms that their own agents did not understand. Ended up taking a full month and numerous phone calls to get it all straight. Then the automatic payments. I set them up for the 15th of the month. Well Geico decided the 11th was okay. They overdrew my account. My overdraft protection covered it but I was still charged a fee by my bank. Then we made a change and they didn't do the automatic payment that month. Then the next month was almost 250% of the original agreed upon amount. I called to question it and was told it was policy. Then I cancelled my policy. They told me I had to pay them on the spot which I politely refused to do because of the amount demanded. I demanded an itemized final statement. It was almost 800.00 less than what they had been demanding on the phone. I switched to Progressive and have had it two months now. No phone calls, no problems, no billing issues nothing. My only problem now is whenever I see a lizard I have this urge to run it over. Jennifer of Irvine, CA May 30, 2009 When inquiring about a potential zip code change to my auto policy, I was told my rate will now be increasing over 65% solely on this fact. All this after a perfect record and being with the company for years. Over 65% in policy premium. From 472 to well over 740 for six months. ISN'T THIS ILLEGAL IN CALIFORNIA? Report Your Experience
