Toni of Irvine, CA February 26, 2009
Toni of Irvine CA (02/26/09) My 2003 Surburban top of the line was broken into on Jan 8-9 sometime in the wee mornings. This person stold my touch screen tv and also because they cut wires they destroyed the whole electrical system in my vehicle. I was not aware that ihad only till 1/9/09am to pay my bill. I always pay my bill in full and this was the full payment. Me not knowing that i was late on my payment called in to file a claim, the lady was nice and responded and gave me the claim number and never once stated oh by the way i noticed your late. nothing, so this whole time i had in my head that i could pay the whole day because it was due 1/9/09.
i proceeded to tow the vehicle to the dealership where i service my car gave them the claim number etc. i did not rent a car because i had my boyfriends car. I get a rude phone call 2 days later telling me hes going to record the call and didnt tell me anything about your claim is under investigation or nothing. I thought he was taking my claim on what happpend. then he started being so abbrasive and starting asking me stupid question like where does your bill come into and what do you do with the bill. did your agent call you about the bill to be paid. then i said excuse me i dont understand whats going on.
he was so rude and i was crying by that time. can you imagine you just got someone who damamged your vehicle that you pay so much money for and you have nothing now and the company that suppose to be there for you and support and make you feel secure was treating me like i was nothing. They did not send me any documents stating that my clai was under inv estigation until i mention it then i get a letter in the mail 4 days later, i then get a letter in the mail telling me that i am not covered and that i have to pay for the damages my self, then my agent who is BMR in Tustin ca mails me a letter stating that in order to continuwe coverage that i have to show proof that my car has been fixed and is in working condition.
Mercury is very unprofesional and i have told abd written many letters to try to do something , this is unfair and not right. the least they could have done was been a little nicer and at least pay for half. What is this world coming to? I was without a car for 1.5 months due to this and finally i had to just trade my car in and get a another car it was so hard on me and my family that i am now in debt because if this situation. Adrian of Milpitas CA (10/20/08) i was at a gas station and a woman pulled forward as i was pulling backwards she ran right in to the side of my car. talked to mercury and they said that they would pay for my car and i never got a call from them then when i call over there they dont tell me nothing i am fed up with mercury insurance i think they need to be a little more respectful of peoples loss and lose the attitude
the side of my car is smashed in Debra of Aliso Viejo, CA August 4, 2008
Debra of Aliso Viejo CA (08/04/08) I have been on hold to report a claim for 40 minutes, and still holding. There is no indication how long I'll be on hold for. There is only one numbef listed to call and no way to contact them on their website. So to report a claim, apparently my only option is to stay on hold and hope someone eventually answers the phone.
James of Krum, TX July 13, 2008
James of Krum TX (07/13/08) On 04-10-08 I filed a claim for hail damages on two of my vehicles. Mercury imspected and absorbed the damages. One was 733.00, the other was 2100.00. As of 07-12-08, Mercury still has not paid the 2100.00 (1600.00 less deduct) claim. The response I get is We mailed the check. I know the mail is slow but this is rediculous.
I have already had the vehicle fixed at MY expense. Christa of Atascadero, CA June 27, 2008
Christa of Atascadero CA (06/27/08) A teenager ran a red light, smashed my car, I was out of a car for 3 months with a rental when it was only supposed to be 30 days, when I finally got my car back, I got charged 2900 for the rental car as they claimed they wouldn't cover certain days/amt even though it was comparable, then when I got my car back it wasn't fixed all the way and I had to return twice and pay out of pocket over 500 to get the items fixed.
It's been over a year and I finally got refunded the 500+ for the repairs. I am a single mom with two kids who was hit by a fully insured driver, as I was also fully insured, and to hit someone who was out of a car for that amount of time when they are a multi-million dollar company is a tragedy!
Very emotional, stressed on bills, hard time paying mortgage, had to borrower money and use credit cards
