Tenet Health Insurance

Patricia of Conover, NC, writes:
My son has been denied insurance coverage under my insurance at Frye Regional Medical Center. Before I decided to accept the position offered to me at FRMC I specifically asked the person in the human resources dept. if my son would be covered.

My son is both mentally and physically handicapped. I never withheld any information on any forms that I filled out before my employment. I was assured that even though my son's birthday is Jan.6,1970 since the federal law had changed regarding preexisting conditions and the fact he had been covered under my insurance at my previous employer, there would be no problems.

My Tenet insurance paid for prescriptions for my son and for his doctor's visits. It was not untill he was seen at Catawba Memorial Hospital's E.R. that there was any inclination of his not being covered.

I have copies of proof of coverage from my previous employer along with copies of bills paid by my Tenet insurance. I recieved a letter from TenetSelect Plan review stating the coverage has been denied.

I have been turned over to a collection agency even though i have stayed in contact with Catawba Memorial Hospital about this bill. I stated all along I was having problems with my insurance company and would take care of the bill when i was able to settle this matter. My husband is also disabled due to severe health problems. He has been very upset by all the harassment we have recieved from all sources concerned.
