Renee of Las Vegas, NV April 22, 2009

I am a member of AOL for almost 12 years with 5 email address - 3 for business and 2 for personal use. I have a estate liquidation business in Las Vegas, NV and have used estatesalenews@aol.com for most of those 12 years - sending out 2-4 emails a month with newsletter with annoucements of where the estate sale will be and what is going up for sale. (www.CallReneeEstateLiquidation.com) A few years ago AOL began enforcing a limit of 100 emails but if you called and got on their mass email list you would be cleared to send out newsletters and such.

Several times in the past-I have sent out my email and gone on line thereafter and not been able to sign on to my account. I would call AOL - remind them I have permission to send them and they would update their data. On April 21st I sent out a email.

On April 22nd, I could not sign on to my accounts. I called AOL and was told that I was blocked from all my accounts and that there was no one who I could speak to to clear up this matter. I was instructed to write a letter to the Communities Action Dept of AOL (CHAT). I went to a supervisor and was told the same thing. There were no telephone numbers and the only contact was by writing a letter. Please note that I have paid for the month. I was not just shut out of the email that they feel was in violation but all of my emails. I can not sign on to get the email addresses of my businesses to continue my business. I feel such exclusion is absolutely criminial. When I can't pay my upcoming bills because I was unable to communicate with my clients - and my clients are going to think I didn't pay my bill.

There could have been a way that I could gain access to an account that has been mine for 12 years and that I have paid for to get the information that I need to continue to do business-let along contact friends to let them know. I've never known a company that you could NOT talk to someone about a problem. There is NO ACCESS to the CHAT dept that controls who gets removed. In other words I paid for a product - and not only can't use it but can't talk to anyone about getting it to work again.

Why has my McAfee security service expired when it is supposed to be included in my AOL service?

None yet that I know of. However I assume I am exposed to network virus dangers.

AOL blocked today 17.04.2009 suddenly, without any prior notice, my screenname. I tried many times with correct password but everytime getting a reply that password is not correct. I telephoned AOL & also sent number of Emails but without any response.

I have hundreds of business & private Emails stored at AOL which are to be attended urgently. I normally get 200 business Emails at average. I will loose business of ca. Euro 60.000 of supply contract. I hasve a doubt that AOL spy my mail with following software.

AOL is consistently slow and often freezes. When trying to exit the program, it restarts unbidden, even when the signoff button is pushed. When trying to exit, I often get a program is not responding message for no apparent reason.

Without any warning whatsoever, in the last few months, AOL has closed the access of customers to thier own information such as was stored in the FTP storage, refusing to allow then to retrieve it, causing the loss of intellectual protperty stored there, and have done the same now with profiles, which included a number of business that ran from thier site, destroying the information as well distrupting business, for who knows how long.

Much the same, they have forced thier customers, with no warning, into a totally unrelated site, Bebo. This is a social networking site, like Facebook, which in fact, many people have previously and deliberately avoided joining. Not only was this done with no warning, but was inacted on even very young children, and removed any safeguards that parents and guardians had put into place with thier children and thier information. This site, which lacks ANY sort of reasonable help section, actually makes available such information as full name, addresses, work locations, educational information, and much more. They recklessly exposed many, many children and people to infasion of privacy, predation, and worse.
