AT&T, which once had it all, planned to have it all again. "AT&T Broadband" was going to be the one pipe that delivered cable, Internet access and telephone services to the home. AT&T raced around buying cable systems for top dollar but has failed badly at integrating the tangled mess of companies and the entire scheme is starting to unravel.

Not surprisingly, the basic glitches with AT&T broadband break down into a pretty familiar list:

Here are a few of the more recent complaints:

They have refused to repair my phones. They say they will but have stated that we must be home from 8am til 7pm they have not shown up, we have requested that they call but they have not (even though they say that is their policy) this has gone on for days.

My wife and I have had to stay at home from work and have not been able to take care of business because we have been told we had to stay home to let the repair man in.

I signed up for an aircard for my computer for the purpose of moving, now that i have moved, it hasnt worked in my new location! it cuts me off every 5 minuits. i have to go to a friends house everyday to work instead of the privacy of my own home. i have called so many times, they have told me therE IS trouble in the area. yet they refuse to cancel my contract with out the cancellation fees,

THIS IS NOT FAIR! I am paying 77 a month for nothing! I have lost thousands due to the fact that i work online. I have two small kids and i am really mad! If their is anyone who can help this situation please let me know.

I HAVE LOST LITERALLY THOUSANDS BECAUSE OF THIS!

As an incentive to switch to ATT U Verse cable service, ATT offered 150 in rebate. They sent 50 but never sent the balance. When I called them they said they would mail the balance out when I had been with the service for a time. Months later when no rebate came I called again and was told I was too late! I tried to explain that it was their responsibility to mail the rebate not for me to pursue it. Customer service was not responsive. On the internet I notice another consumer had similiar experience

I am the owner of 2 small businesses. At&T is billing me for internet services at twice the amount the they told me, and are billing me 48.00 per month for internet advertising that I never ordered. On the Company they are billing me for a long distance service I never agreed to.

Have spent many hours trying to resolve this, mostly on hold waitig for someone to answer. Very frustrating. They are ripping me off and they don't care. approximately 133.00 per month

Sadie of Homestead, FL October 18, 2008

Sadie of Homestead FL (10/18/08)
I have AT&T as my home telephone provider. I signed up with AT&T for cable television service also. After the cable was installed, I was unable to see most of the channels. After a week, I called AT&T and a serviceman was sent to my home. He told me the reason I am having all this problem is due to the fact that my home is surrounded by large Palm trees and that is the reason the dish cannot pick up the satellite. I asked the technician to put that in his report. He tried to move the dish a little, but that made it worse.

Even though I had signed a contract, I felt the original technician should have known better and explain that I could not use a Dish because of all those palm trees. These palm trees are located next door to my home in the Homestead Air Force Base Park. I cannot pay this enormous amount of money each month for service I am not getting.

I called AT&T today, and was told by a customer service representative that I must honor the two year contract. I asked him to look at the report from the last technician who told me that he cannot do anything because of the Palm trees; he told me he would not look at the report. I cannot and will not allow them to take my money month after month and get nothing in return.

I am 64 years old and I have come to the conclusion that these large companies try to trick senior citizens. They feel that they can do anything with older people and get away with it. I am asking for your assistance in resolving this issue.I would like AT&T to look at the Technician's report as I am not able to find the copy he left me. Thank you very much
