Vidyut of Westlake OH (2/11/05):
I cancelled MSN internet service in August 2004. Although I was unable to log on using my MSN account, MSN continued to bill the monthly charges to my credit card. Their automated service can not assist me, and their customer service does not answer calls. I placed numerous calls and waited for over 30 minutes without any results. After 6 months, I am still being charged on my credit card. I have had bad experience with this particular card in past disputes and have discontinued the use and paying off balance at present.

Yuliya of Philadelphia (11/5/04):
I have subscribed to MSN service for 1.5 years. They always charged my account on 27-29 of each month. When I decided to cancel my subscription I did it on the 20th of the month so I do not incur any further charges. At the beginning of the next month MSN charged my account again. Because of that I incurred $35 overlimit fee. When I called the customer service I could not get further than the level 2 billing specialist, Nancy with no identifiable last name. She only gave her employee number 2XMK.

When I told her that I would like to record our conversation so that I have a proof of her refusal to take my complaint to the higher level specialist, she started threatening me that I am prohibited from doing so even if I told her about my intentions. She informed me that my subscription billing date is actually 18th of the month. It was the first time for the 1.5 years that I heard that. The charges always appeared on 27-30 of the months. I also learned that there is a webpage that you can go to see that. This information was new to me.

Suparna of Northridge CA writes (12/19/01):
MSN had been our Internet provider for over 4 years. As we changed our service to DSL we cancelled our service with MSN in July 2001. MSN went ahead anyways and charged our Discover Card for one year subscription for $190.00.

We called 8/5, 10/1, 10/17, 10/19, 11/8, 11/21, 12/5 and spoke with different reps and supervisor at the toll-free number and no one gave us a satifying answer. Some told the check will be mailed, some said our credit card will be credited. Some said it was out of their hands and is in Accelating Dept.

On 12/1/2001 I called MSN Administration Dept at 1-425-882-8080 and spoke with the operator "Jeena" and she told me that some one will get back in a week's time. As of today I have not received my refund back, no one has contacted me and we don't know what to do next. Please can someone help us get our money back.

It is so frustrating to deal with MSN customer service. I feel I have been ripped off. It is been over 5 months and still my refund is with MSN. They have the worst representatives. They all are liars. I will never recommend anyone to go with MSN. It is a disaster to deal with their customer service. I just feel sorry for Bill Gates who worked hard to bring this company to the top and soon it will be down the drains becuase of the service they give to their customers.

It's too bad Suparna waited so long. She should have disputed the charge with her credit card company immediately. Now it's probably too late. Her next step should be to send a certified, return-receipt-requested letter to MSN, detailing her complaint and demanding that her money be refunded within 30 days.
