Not too long ago, legal services were provided by lawyers. Period. These days, there are prepaid legal services, paralegals, legal clinics, online legal forms and who knows what else. Some of these might be OK sometimes, but as the complaints in this section show, the verdict can also go the other way.

If you have retained an attorney and are not happy with his or her performance, you should contact your state bar association, which is responsible for enforcing rules of ethical conduct. Contrary to what many consumers believe, most state bars are very tough and mete out severe penalties to lawyers who seriously abuse their clients.
