Consumer Protection for Active Duty Military

Sprint PCS

Santos, USS John C. Stennis, At Sea (8/21/02) writes:
Last year in early Nov. I called Sprint and asked if I could keep my phone number and the representative said "yes". I'm in the service and I was going to be gone for six months and I wanted to keep my phone number. Well right before my deployment ended which was in late May I called to make sure that my plan was going to be changed to $34.99 for 3500 min. So I thought my phone would be ready by the time I would get back in June.

The first week I get here and start using my phone, they turn my service off. So I paid off what they charged and after I paid a couple of hundred dollars I had noticed that my plan had not being changed, not until a week or two ago, and I still owe them 256.00 just because they never changed my plan. And they are also charging me for changing my plan, which was not supposed to happen according to the representative I talked to last Nov.

I ended up paying hundreds of dollars for their mistakes. and I did not have communication with my family in texas for the last 8-10 weeks.

Jocelyn of Hubert NC (3/6/03):
My husband is in the military and supposedly Sprint disconnects phones for orders. We supplied a copy of the orders to Sprint asking them to shut off his phone on a specific date because we were moving. Well they shut off our phone and said that we owed them $320.00 because of an early termination fee and the inflation of our service. I decided not to pay it and currently they have a harrassing, rude company after us.

They keep bringing up the hurt and emotions of my husband being gone. They are harrassing and rude when they call and I don't appreciate it.
