Elizabeth of Oakland CA (8/19/03):
I began speaking to her in '99. She had an ad in the paper, I called her for a reading. She convinced me that I needed some more work done. About six months later I sent her $10,000 to do work for me. Over the past 4 years I spoke to her everyday. After about a year after first speaking to her, she asked me to borrow some money because someone stole her purse.

To make a long story short she ended borrowing about $50,000 from me. She had me convinced that she was going to pay me back. She kept telling about money that she inherited, and that she was waiting for it to go through. This past May, she convinced me she needed to do some work on some money that I inherited. I was very hesitant to do so, but I did. I sent her $56,000. After that I never heard from her again. She told me that she was moving to Lordsburg, New Mexico but have been unable to locate her.

I have been having a hard time getting past it emotionally as well as financially. I thought this woman was someone who I could trust completely. She acted as though she was my best friend. She called almost everyday and sent me gifts for every occassion (chrsitmas, birthdays, etc.). Luckily, I didn't send her all the money I had. I am struggling though. I rented all of the rooms in my home and sold my car. I was planning on transfering to a private university, but now I am unable to do so.
