Russell of Holly Hill, SC, writes (4/2/01):
This is a really long and "CRAZY" story and shows some ignorance and stupidipy on my part even though I'm college educated. The bottum line is I was swindled out of a large sum of money, at least $12000-$15,000, by a so called "PSYCHIC." Yes it is true. I spent lots and lots more money talking to other "PSYCHICS who worked for the same (and other networkworks) but what makes the psychic whose namee is supposedly Winter Wren unique is she PROMISED AND SWORE (I HAVE IT DOCUMENTED) TO GET PERSONALLY INVOLVED IN MY SITUATION!

She promised (I have the actual chat logs) to come down from her home in Illinois to South Carolina to personally assist me and a friend of mine. She actually said she was going to "RESCUE" my friend from the situation she was in I KNOW THIS SOUNDS VERY VERY COMPLEX AND TRICKY AND BELIEVE ME IT IS! So I do not want to disclose any more details now except to say she swore to me SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF SEVERAL MONTHS THAT SHE WAS COMING TO SOUTH CAROLINA!

Well, it's 8 months and 15 thousand dollars later and the psychic is still in Illinois with no plans of coming to SC. I'M IN MORE DEBT THAN I CAN POSSIBLY EVER GET OUT OF AND MY FRIEND IS IN NO BETTER SHAPE THAN WHEN WE STARTED 8 MONTHS AGO!

I've talked to the owner of the company; the only compensation he gave was an hour of free time with this lying "WITCH" -- and I dont mean to use that word in any derogatory way at all WINTER-WREN IS A SELF PROCLAIMED WITCH AND PROUD OF IT!

I should say that i have filed complaints with the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Federal Trade Commission and they have informed me that they cannot assist me at all in this if I am working with an attorney. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ALL THOSE PROMISES THAT WOMAN MADE TO ME ARE A BINDING CONTRACT ARE THEY? I mean she said repeadedly she does not take her vows lightly and when she PROMISES SOMEONE TO DO SOMETHING AND GIVES HER WORD SHE MEANS IT! IS this a binding contract since she said it dozens of times and I have it in writing?

I have many of the chat logs but when i informed the company i was taking legal action THEY DELETED ALL OF MY CHAT LOGS FROM THIER SYSTEM AND DESTROYED ALL OF MY ACCOUNT RECORDS and said there was "NO PROOF" of any wrong doing now. Why destroy records if there is nothing to hide? I have many of the chat transcripts and copies of all of my credit card receipts as proof of payment and written chat logs of several months of PROMISES of her promising to do thus and so if the FTC and DOCA cannot obtain compensation do I have grounds for lawsuit in court or a settlement?

There are very VERY VERY EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES HERE! Things i havent told you yet 1. First of all IM LEGALLY BLIND! I have some sight but it's limited 2. I suffer from depression and anxiety and some other emotional disorders that I take several medications for. MS WREN WAS WELL AWARE OF ALL OF THIS SO SHE ACTED VERY UNPROFESSIONALLY!

Financially I have suffered TREMEDOUSLY! I'm at least $20,000 in credit card debt and unable to work because of my disability. The only income I recive is a $350 Social Security check every month. WITHOUT COMPENSATION I DONT KNOW HOW I WILL EVER GET OUT OF DEBT OR HAVE ANY KIND OF FUTURE!

If Russell indeed has retained an attorney, he should back out of the case and let his attorney handle it. Sending communiques like this to all points of the globe is not helpful to his case.
