Sylvia of Clarksville TN (04/09/09) Movers did not complete their job. I was told that they work until the job was completed. The Movers stop at 0230 hrs on 7 April 2009, stating they didn't have the tools to put my furniture back together. I've been calling all this week. I've basically been getting the round around that some one is coming back out. The moveong crew showed up two hours late. My schdule pickup was at 3 p.m. they arrive at 5 p.m. I had to go to Lowes to purchase tools for them because they didn't have any align wrench to take apart my canopy bed. The moving crewalso left my belongings on the second the floor. Thye faile to bring the items up to my apartment. The movers stop at 0230 hours. The tenants had to come outside and tell the movers to be quiet because they were making loud noise with the dolly. On the Bill of Landing. The movers put the wrong time they finish and when they started.
Gwen of Davie, FL April 6, 2009
Gwen of Davie FL (04/06/09) My 82 year old mother was quoted a price to move several pieces of furnisher from her house to mine approx. 30 miles away. The movers were at her house for 1 hour and at mine for less than 1/2 hour. She was quoted a price of 84.00 an hour plus fuel charge. She had put down a 100.00 deposit and they charged my end 418.00. Now, I know the gas prices were high a few months ago, but this was a recent move. Even if it was high at one point, I don't think gas prices were ever 20.00 a gallon. I was told that they would refund my card for the over charge within 3 days. It has been well over two weeks and no refund yet. Warning to all... Do Not Use This Company!!!! If they can screw an 82 year old woman, they will screw anyone.
Daniel of Birmingham, AL March 22, 2009
Daniel of Birmingham AL (03/22/09) I was recently involved with a move from Birmingham to Atlanta. All My Sons was the mover. DO NOT USE THEM!!! They quoted a price from 900-1,100. Once they got to Atlanta, they almost doubled to just under 2,000. They were told not to unload the truck until they were paid in full. Interestingly, on their web site, they have this language: However, once these scam movers take possession of your household goods, they significantly increase the price and refuse to unload your possessions until you pay the higher price, usually in cash. At the very least, they were unprofessional, and at the most they scam their customers and use fraudulent means to get customers. Even the people moving told us that the do this all the time: quote a rate and then jack it up before unloading the truck. Use any mover but All My Sons.
Jil of Stratford, CT February 18, 2009
Jil of Stratford CT (02/18/09) In early February 2009 I was contacted by a sales representative of All My Sons Moving and Storage, Clayton. I discussed the details of my move with him on Feb. 2. I was given the registration number listed below, told I would have a two-man team available to move me on Sunday, Feb. 15 and was quoted a price of 98 per hour, plus a gas surcharge. I told Clayton the movers would need to move two bedrooms, two couches and a television stand to my new apartment, which is only 1/2 a mile down the street from my current location. He said this would take no more than two hours, plus one hour for travel, making the total cost 320.46. Later that afternoon my roommate also called the company and spoke to Annie, another call center representative. She was also guaranteed a Feb. 15 move date and was told that we would be contacted prior to the move to be given a time.
On Feb. 12 - three days before my scheduled move - I received a call from Bob, another representative of All My Sons. I was told that my move was confirmed for Monday, Feb. 16. I told him that was incorrect. I was then informed that All My Sons does not move on Sundays, even though I had TWICE been told that was the case. I was then quoted a price of 1,500 for five bedrooms, not accurate information. When I told Bob that this was inconvenient for me due to the fact that I must vacate my current housing situation on Feb. 15 I was told that he was sorry but there was nothing he could do except provide me with five free wardrobe boxes. I found this to me condescending and unprofessional. I do not need boxes. I do need my belongings moved, as was promised.
I have been greatly inconvenienced by this company, and I do not intend to let this go. I found that the Stratford branch of All My Sons is NOT BBB Accredited - I can see why. I am appalled that a company who prides itself on being family owned and customer centered would treat a customer this way. This is no way to run a business. I would hate for someone else to unknowingly trust [this] company with their move.
I was told that there was nothing that could be done for me. As a result, I hired another WONDERFUL moving company, out of Stamford, CT. However, the price was 250 more than I originally intended to spend. Spring of Philadelphia, PA February 13, 2009
Spring of Philadelphia PA (02/13/09) We called 3 companies to get bids on moving a pool table from Salt Lake City to Philadelphia. All My Sons gave the mid-price bid at 1085 minus a 25 coupon. When the movers showed up to pick up the pool table they wanted 264 extra as fuel surcharge (in December when gas had dropped to 1.44 gal), putting the new price at 200 OVER the bid by the highest original bidder. We told them we were canceling the move, even though their movers were there ready to load the truck.
After much complaining about the manager won't like this, we aren't even going to make a commission on this move we agreed to pay 1/2 of the fuel charge. We were told the delivery would take 2-3 weeks. The pool table finally arrived today, 8 weeks later. During calls weeks ago, we were told the table had already been picked up from their warehouse and was in route. In fact, we learned it wasn't actually picked up til February 6th. Beware of this company, as pleasant as their sales people may be on the phone, it's a shyster bait and switch company.
