Ampack is a moving company that did some minor damage to
my furniture. I had to call them repeatedly for several months
before they would send someone to look at the damage, and then
after they suggested I go ahead and get someone to give me an
estimate for the repairs, they decided to charge me a $100 deductible
for an insurance claim, whereas they weren't going to charge
me if they had done the work themselves (they *authorized* my
getting an estimate, and did not mention that this would now
cost me).
They took 137 days to dispose of my claim, which is in violation
of title 49 of Fed. regulations part 370 (which says that all
claims must be disposed of w/in 120 days of receipt of claim).
They were deceptive and uncooperative, and I am out $100.
I am out $100 and am furious at the way they treated me.
