O'Connor Mayflower
Wrightstown, NJ

Antoinette of Freehold, NJ, writes:
I submitted a damage claim to O'Connor Bros. Movers of Wrightsville, N. J. on October 15, 1999.

I hired O'Connor Mayflower Movers to move furnishings from my home on August 31, 1999. From the start of moving day, it was evident that the movers that had been sent to my home were not experienced at all. As stated in my claim: The canopy bed was dropped causing damage, custom made corner curio damaged, picture frames damaged, entire front of washing machine scratched.

Most upsetting of the incidents list above was when the movers tried to take my washing machine through a narrow storm door and scratched the entire front of the machine.. This room being described, had both a narrow storm door and a double inside door. The movers and their obvious lack of experience chose to move the washing machine through the smaller of the two choices.

I called O'Conner Mayflower Movers immediately to report this incident. I had already sold said washing machine to another family. Mayflower agreed to contact the new owners and promised to make repair on the scratched front of the washing machine.

Consistently unreliable, O'Conner Mayflower Movers never contacted the new owners and the repair to the damaged machine was never made. I was promised by their sales representative, Carol, during contract signing, that my furniture would be covered during the move for protection against damage as normally done by professional movers. The furniture never was covered during the move as agreed upon.

Antoinette should stop wasting time on the phone and sue the mover in Small Claims Court.
