Storage Lockers

You see them everywhere -- those peppy-looking self-storage units. It seems like it would be a safe and simple solution to all kinds of storage problems. But scan the complaints here and two things become clear -- you must be careful never to fall behind in your monthly payments and you should visit your locker regularly to make sure everything's OK.

Also, pack your stored items as though there were going to be outside. Regardless of what you're told, most lockers are not water-proof and may be prone to insect infestations and other misfortunes.
