Chrysler Recalls Sebrings, AvengersTire pressure monitoring system problem |

April 8, 2008
NHTSA warns that the short circuit can cause multiple problems in the Sebring and Avenger. The electrical problem can cause the engine to fail to start, the remote starting system to fail, drain and kill the battery, render the cruise control system inoperative or the vehicle to stall, the safety agency reported on its Web site. Federal regulators warned the “engine stalling could cause a crash without warning.” Chrysler dealers will repair the wires in the tire pressure monitoring system that are subject to corrosion free of charge when the recall begins April 15. Sebring and Avenger owners can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 or NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153). Report Your Experience
