Honda Recalls 2003 Accords for Wiper Motor |
April 17, 2008
The Honda recall covers Accords from the 2003 model year. Honda reported that water seeping into the windshield wiper motor is the cause of the corrosion that can lead to an electrical circuit breaker inside the motor failing. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported on its Web site that "if the circuit breaker fails, it will cause the windshield wiper motor to become inoperative which can increase the likelihood of a crash in certain conditions." No injuries or crashes have been reported as a result of the failure. Owners may call Honda at (800) 999-1009 or NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153). Report Your Experience
