The new prices go into effect at the end of the month. The sticker price for the Prius hybrid jumped $400 to $22,160. The hybrid Camry will cost $300 more or $25,650, according to Toyota. Toyota added an additional $200 to the Yaris, bringing the price of the sedan to $13,085. The Yaris hatchback will cost U.S. consumers $12,210. The price of a 2008 FJ Cruiser SUV increased $500 to $23,730. Excluded from the price increases are the gas hungry Sequoia SUV and Tacoma pickup as well as the newly designed 2009 Corolla and 2009 Matrix crossover. Toyota increased some Lexus prices by 1.4 percent. The price of the Lexus IS 350 entry sports sedan will rise $300 to $36,305, according to Toyota. Toyota's price increase is in sharp contrast to U.S. automakers, who are having trouble selling many of their larger SUVs, pickup trucks and sedans. Yesterday, Chrysler announced it will offer a gas subsidy to consumers who buy some of its least fuel-efficient models. Report Your Experience
