By Mark Huffman April 3, 2009
The company calls it a precautionary move, because the nuts could be tainted with salmonella. The Food and Drug Administration is now investigating Setton International Foods in New York as a possible source for contamination. The recall is the latest in a series, distressingly similar to the massive peanut recall earlier this year, caused by a salmonella outbreak that killed at least nine people and sickened more than 600 others. The following bulk items were distributed to the following states: WI, IL, NY, CT, UT, MN, NJ, VT, FL, MA, PA, CA, MI, NV, MO, TX, MD, OH & Canada.
The following packaged items were distributed to the following states: WI, NY, MA, MD, FL, NJ, RI, IL, LA, PA, MN, OH, MI, CT, DE, CO, TX, Canada & Panama:
The company says there have been no confirmed cases of salmonellosis in connection with these products. No other Setton International products including in shell pistachios and those containing pistachios are affected by this recall. Report Your Experience
