The dollars fall away. The pounds? Now that's another matter. There's no end of plans, programs, gurus, diets and schemes out there, all promising easy, effortless weight loss. All of them are happy to take your money. However, actually losing weight isn't as easy ... nor is getting your money back if you decide to quit the program, as many LA Weight Loss clients have found out.
If you have any existing health problems -- diabetes, high blood pressure, depression -- or if you're taking prescription medications, it's very important to check with your doctor before starting any new diet.
Also, it's important to realize that getting out of the program can be difficult, not to mention expensive.
Rachel of Bakersfield, CA August 19, 2008
Rachel of Bakersfield CA (08/19/08) I signed a contract on 4/09/08 and was told to COME IN TWICE a week so that they can give me one on one help. As of 8/08/08 the center told me they were closing the doors in three days. Well, I am now paying a care credit card that I owe 935.63..plus suplements that go along with the plan I was on.... I have to pay the credit card because LA Weight Loss already got their money....I'm trying to make ends meet with the income I have....I was sacrifying to pay this debt because I am trying to lose weight for my Sons Wedding...LA Weight Loss really pulled the wool over my eyes.... I can't beleive they could be so DISHONEST!! they want me to telecommute and I didn't want to do that because that was not what I was told to do when I signed the contract..they also said I would get a REFUND ...well so much for that...I'll never see that refund that was promised to me.VThey told me to come in twice a week and buy their supplements, because they go side by side with the plan to lose weight and that I would get a refund if I lost so much weight... according to them, I have done everything they have told me to do... ..So I'm stuck with a large credit card bill and supplements and closed doors to the bussiness that lied to me.
I have to pay a 900.00 bill to LA Weight Loss and they closed the doors on me .

Janine of Denver CO (07/31/08) I signed up for laWEIGHT LOSS and paid 1300.00 for program and bars. Now the store is closing 09-26-08 and no refunds and offering LA on teh go. No La On The Go Site. It offers e-bay sales of bars and food form LA weight loss centers. I started the program 03-05-08. All of the centers knew they were closing and bankruptcy and contiuned to sell me a program for 2 years. I asked for a pro rated refund they said no good luck too. Here is LA On The Go. It doesn't exist on the internet at all.

Gina of Oswego, IL June 18, 2008
Gina of Oswego IL (06/18/08) I joined L. A. Weight loss in 2007. My husband joined a few weeks after me. We still had several weeks of weight loss and 52 weeks of maintenance all paid for with a Care Credit account. The company went bankrupt leaving us to pick up the tab for services we never got! Mean while Care Credit is still tacking on interest and late charges because we are refusing to pay! I will go to my grave owing this and I am not paying for services I did not get! This is fraud.
I have been turned down for credit because this is going against my credit. I have been very stressed out thinking about this company and the way they have been allowed to walk away.
