The dollars fall away. The pounds? Now that's another matter. There's no end of plans, programs, gurus, diets and schemes out there, all promising easy, effortless weight loss. All of them are happy to take your money. However, actually losing weight isn't as easy ... nor is getting your money back if you decide to quit the program, as many LA Weight Loss clients have found out.
If you have any existing health problems -- diabetes, high blood pressure, depression -- or if you're taking prescription medications, it's very important to check with your doctor before starting any new diet.
Also, it's important to realize that getting out of the program can be difficult, not to mention expensive.
Mj of Foreston, MN February 22, 2009
Mj of Foreston MN (02/22/09) Center closed down. They said we would get out rebate of over 770 in appx 10 weeks. It has been over 12. They had us sign up for another year less than 6 weeks before they shut down and they owe us our money back!!
Times are hard and we need our money back!
Brandy of San Diego, CA February 20, 2009
Brandy of San Diego CA (02/20/09) I was part of L.A. weightloss and doing fairly well. Lost 2olbs and then became pregnant. Sunshine put my memembership oh hold and told me that I could return after I had my baby. The bars that I had prepaid for and everything else would be there for me when I was ready to return. So, today I tried to call and the number was discontected. I checked the website and they said there was no center in my area. Very frustrated! I am just a mom who wanted to go back and continue her weightloss after the baby and I feel completely cheated and taken advantage of. How will I get my money back that I already paid but didn't recieve the product? I was afraid something like this would happen when I put my membership on hold. If there is a class action law suit, I would like to be part of it!
Out hundreds of dollars!!!

Patricia of Gilbert, AZ January 23, 2009
Patricia of Gilbert AZ (01/23/09) I joined the center aprox 2 years ago. I used the center three times. I was told when I signed the contract that three monthly installments would come out of my checking account. I then received a few weeks letter something from Care Credit. I talked to the center and they said they would clear this up as this is what I was told. I then went to weigh in one day and the center was closed down.
I told Care Credit that I wasn't going to pay for services that were not rendered. They started calling 8-20 times a day. I started making payments when I could to get to stop calling. I thought once everything was cleared about the company they would stop asking. I moved here last February and I am still getting phone calls. Some of the phone calls they have posed as my employer to get me on the line.
I now have been turned over to Encore Collections for a total amount of 312.00 which is more than I owe. I feel that this is a fradulent company and I should not be held responsible for this debt on services that can not be rendered. I now have my credit being ruined as well as threatening phone calls. his should be reported to the States Attorney Department.
