Dana of Boston writes (10/9/01):
I placed an order on 8/15/01 for a DVD entitled "The Fast and the Furious" which is listed under the site's Misc. section. I paid at the time of purchase using my PayPal account and do have a receipt of payment from PayPal.

At the time of purchase the video was listed as being backordered, yet the site says that any backordered movie should be received within two weeks, and if not the money would be refunded.

It has been almost two months since my purchase and I have emailed the company three times to correct this situation. I have not received a response back or a refund. If they are unable to provide me with the movie I paid for, I simply want a refund. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Dana is perfectly justified in feeling this way -- and in fact has a legal right to expect either prompt delivery or the opportunity to cancel, as required by the Federal Trade Commission's Mail Order Rule. Dana should go to the FTC site and file an online complaint against the company.
