Would be zero stars if possible. I had their credit card when it was through Synchrony. I never received the new account bonus, nor any of the additional cash back that was the reward program for the card. The cash back was supposed to come to my Rakuten account and not from the credit card company. When I reached out to Rakuten about not getting the additional cash back, they said I didn't have a credit card. All the while, I received correspondence regarding my credit card and my Rakuten platform account all at the same email and physical address. This company has no ethics. Beware.

Rakuten isn't what it used to be. Very slow getting cash back, misleading deals that deny cash back after you purchase. I bought a Dream Cloud Mattress Bundle from the link on Rakuten because of the deal they posted and after the purchase was completed and got the message that cash back was on the way, days later it was denied. Tried disputing it twice, all they replied was that it was a special deal with no cash back. Not true, I read every detail of the cash back offer and it was the exact deal they offered the cash back for. The only reason I bought the Dream Cloud over the Nectar Mattress was the large cash back offer, and by the way Not happy with the Dream Cloud, not a good mattress comfort-wise.

If I can give a 0 rating that's I would give. I refer four (4) people, and they spent $50+ to claim the reward. The total referral reward is $200, they locked my account! What a terrible company! After I used their Rakuten link they don't give you the reward that you're supposed to have.

The cash takes forever to go from pending to claimed. Never used to be. The extension for shopping doesn't always work, so I have to buy in for a missing purchase. Then almost always gives me a hard time. It's not what it used to be.

Rakuten currently feels like a scam. You join and take advantage of high percentage back offers, they suspend your account to prevent paying out. Fighting for account reinstatement with no response. Be careful, I would look elsewhere going forward. Lack of honesty and transparency.

I purchased Super Bowl tickets on StubHub, going through the Rakuten.com app, which was advertising 14% cash back on StubHub purchases. Because of this deal and this deal only, I purchased my tickets using Rakuten. After I made the purchase of almost $25,000, Rakuten "customer service" notifies me that the purchase was not eligible, despite it being advertised on their app and there being absolutely no communication throughout the purchase that it was ineligible. Rakuten blames StubHub, despite advertising on Rakuten's own app, and StubHub blames Rakuten.

Rakuten's system is not sending verification codes to my email, so I see no possible way to request a payment. Rakuten has wasted my time. I plan to close my account and no longer refer others to Rakuten.

Horrid. Big rewards NEVER processed, even after I started taking pictures of the offer and my purchase. AND that purple icon made me nuts, interrupting the flow of searching or shopping. Forget this.

Payments take forever and often money is removed from the pending amount owed. No explanation and no way to tell what store it was slated from. Trying to contact customer service is a joke. They send you in a loop of articles. I was owed $146. Now it says $117. What happened to that money? No idea. I will no longer use them for future purchases and let's see if I get what is owed. This entire process is rotten and needs a class action suit.

I would give zero stars if possible!! What a TERRIBLE COMPANY!! Nowhere on the website is there a link to a chat, phone number, or even email to contact a real, live person! They continually issue checks from INVALID ACCOUNTS. When you go to cash the check, the bank won't because the money is coming from an account that is not even valid!!!! When I try to contact the company to request a reissue, again, NO HELP IS GIVEN ANYWHERE ON THE WEBSITE except to complete an online help form, WHICH DOES NOT WORK or even submit the complaint/concern!!! Save your time and effort...don't use this company!

90% of the money I spend that has the "cash back" label gets changed to "ineligible" by this scam of a company. I spent hundreds of dollars in the last 60 days on these sites and these scammers show me as getting 50 cents 'cash back'. What a joke.

They promote all this cash back and then weeks or months later they are marked as ineligible. Denied cash back of almost $100 from Christmas shopping. Don’t use this service, just find best deals with upfront discounts.

I just made a sizable purchase at Sonos through Rakuten when they promoted %15 cash back. When reading the fine print all that it said was that vendors were ineligible, and there was no max limit. When it came time to give my cashback, I was told the purchase was ineligible (with no explanation given).

I’m extremely disappointed with Rakuten’s referral program. I referred my daughter, and despite her making about $100 in purchases, every single one was marked ineligible. We never received the referral bonus. The ‘refer and earn’ offer feels misleading and not worth the frustration.

They recovered and returned my full amount. Without that intervention, this would have been a devastating and unforgettable loss.

Just bought a mattress from Macy’s online through Rakuten link, and paid ~$1400. The Rakuten promotion for Macy’s is 13%. But only ~$19 rebates given. What kind of marketing. It lies to customers. It is a cheater.

So you buy through the app that doesn't give you your cash back. It owes me from 4 months back. There has got to be some law for these companies that are ripping people off. Senior citizens trying to make ends meet stay away from this.

You can buy stuff and get a pending reward, but after a few weeks they may find your account "suspicious" and suspend your account to avoid the payout. Basically there is no recourse. They can say whatever they want. My feedback is consistent with most on here.

I advise no one to deal with this company or download this app. They don't give you your cash back if it's a lot of money they have to give you. As long as it's pennies they will give it to you. I purchased the Norton security from their website. I was told that I would get my cash back on 09/08/2025. After I didn't receive it I contacted them today on 09/13/2025 to be told I didn't qualify for the cash back and that I should have read the qualifications. I did read it and it said I was qualified to get my cash back so I advise you not to download this app. I uninstalled this app this morning. I would give it a zero star but it wouldn't let me.
