My experience with High Tech Pet Store was okay. The products I ordered arrived on time and matched the descriptions, and their selection is good. That said, I ran into a few issues with customer service response times when I had questions, and one of the items didn’t work quite as expected. Not a bad experience overall, but nothing that really stood out as excellent either.

Ok, yes, I had some issues with that automatic door. However, customer service is extremely timely and attentive when an issue arose. They quickly honored the warranty and sent a replacement. They have worked with me every step of the way to make things right.

When it works it's great. It's been less than three years I think and I have to replace the cable that pulls the door up and down which I never had to do with another one I had at another place I lived. It's not that simple and should be made better. Now after I replaced it it still doesn't work and I have to do more what I consider surgery on this door. Replacing other parts like motherboards or motors. I don't know what. I've had to spend so much time and had so much aggravation taking this thing apart with its 50 screws or whatever. And all these weeks the dogs can't go out and use it.

It seems like an ideal solution except it’s not. Mine is in an exterior wall. 2x6 framing. I’ve replaced it 3 times due to poor quality. I’ve also replaced most parts. Customer service is fair but not always available. It might work better in a door but I’d never recommend putting it in a wall. The “tunnel” made of plastic isn’t deep enough or sturdy enough. You can only get batteries from them and they’re expensive. My take is it’s not well designed, unreliable (particularly if you live in an area with climate extremes) and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I installed my electric High Tech Pet door in 2019 and here in 2025 it has started some erratic behavior and has become less reliable. The proximity key has been replaced and the battery has been replaced. I used the troubleshooting guide on the supplier website and it indicated to replace the circuit board and/or sensor receiver wiring harness. Package came in the mail just fine, no damage. I open the package and the circuit board was packaged in a white foam carrier pouch, packed in white popcorn. The red/green LEDs were bent over on the circuit board. It became clear that the quality/reliability of their product could be contributed to their lack of attention to Electrical Static Discharge (ESD) precautions and packaging standards for electronic circuit boards.

I have already bought 8 collars from this company and none (even the $100 one) has lasted more than 2 days. The quality of the collar is bad and dogs can easily break it. I don’t recommend for dogs that live with other dogs as they will easily break the collar and the device attached to it. Ridiculously expensive for the quality. The door is good, but pointless to have with low-quality collars.

We have had a High Tech Pet Power Pet Door (Large) for 12 years - it's been the best investment we have ever made. I was a little hesitant about the purchase at first, but as so glad we did it. We have never had an issue with this door - only have had to replace the batteries in the dog's collars about 1-2 times a year. Both dogs picked up on how to use it pretty quickly and love the freedom to come and go as they please. The door goes our deck which has access to a fenced kennel area for the dogs (another gated stairs gives us access to the remainder of the yard). Both dogs enjoy sunning themselves on warm days or high-tailing it back into the house in cold days.

I thought this would be wonderful however I so badly wish I bought a regular door with no battery. The door only works about 50 percent of the time and you have to spend lots of additional money replacing parts for an unreliable door. You won't be happy with the purchase.

My dog is a genius when it comes to solving puzzles, and this toy keeps him entertained for hours! It's well-made and easy to clean, and the different difficulty levels keep him challenged. These chew toys are a lifesaver! My Labrador used to destroy everything in sight, but these durable toys keep him entertained for hours without falling apart.

The door has functioned well most of the time but I’ve had 6 of the MS-5 collar transmitters and 5 of them have failed within several months. Their solution is to keep sending me replacements but that’s not much help when you’re trying to house break dogs.
