We will never again buy this food. Our canine got very sick immediately, continued with diarrhea, vomiting and general weakness, very disappointing. I will not recommend it to anyone.

I wish I could write a positive review, as I had high hopes and was even proud of myself for taking the plunge and splurging on more expensive food for my young Rottweiler. After a good long trial now of 3 weeks, nothing is getting better. Possibly worse. She has not had a firm poop in 3 weeks now. It’s DEFINITELY the Iams dog food. The irony is, I bought the “Healthy Digestion” bag, too. It’s sad to say, but it is a no for me. :(

I am sad to learn by reading all the many bad reviews, I fed my dogs IAMS in the can since they were puppies. I too notice blood in my dog's stool and hacking noises he made. I never thought it would be from the Iams wet food in a can! Also, a can of Iams doubled in price. So I will stop feeding Iams to my dogs. I may as well buy fresh meat and vegetables for my dogs to make their food.

As a person who's been utilizing this food product for many years I'm noticing the quality is becoming more and more inferior. I'm also reading the reviews of employees that have worked there as well as people that have had detrimental things happen to their animals after eating Iams dog food. I recently sent them photographs of this gelatin top slime that's inside my dog food two different types of brands that is becoming more and more evident each can that I open. They responded with a slew of questions asking me where did I buy the food like I stole it or something, how was I storing it, etc. Etc. Tons of questions before answering me a simple question of what this substance was?? They were acting as if I was demanding a refund.

I refuse to answer the questions as I wanted to know what is in their product simple as that. I highly recommend that you read the reviews of this product before you utilize it with any of your pet family members, as well as provide feedback to this company in the form of consumer affairs or google so that their upper management will respond since their reps could care less. Once we start taking money out of their pocket maybe someone will listen. This food has gone up almost 50 to 60% in the last few years and has become more and more inferior as mentioned above.

I highly recommend that you do not utilize this food product and make sure that you utilize the phone number on the back of your product to make your complaint. Then put it in writing. Until we stop being lazy and just move on with a different food product they will not change their product and if it will save one animal or even one person from buying this product then my job is done!

My dog can only handle IAMS dog food. I do a rotation between IAMS Minichunks Whole Grain and Chicken recipe, Beef and Rice, and Lamb and Rice hydrated with water and a few supplements and her tummy skin and coat so Amazing! I will forever feed my dogs IAMS. It’s affordable even the 30, 40, and 44 pound bags, money is tight right now for me and I can afford this and my dog thrives on it. She’s been doing amazing on it for 5 years! I’ve tried other foods and she just can’t handle it. I LOVE IAMS and definitely recommend it!

Be watchful for mold. After moving some of the unwieldy 50lb bag into a sealed 5g bucket, all was fine until I got to the bottom of the bucket and noticed the food was wet and moldy. Asked IAMs. Not helpful.

The bag is getting smaller and smaller for the price. Soon this 11lb bag will quickly become a quart size portion of food if you keep on. I really think this is the best dog food for my dogs and it has no horrible odor like most other brands. Even Purina One began to reek. But, I will be forced to do something else due to price if this continues. Thank you.

I have been feeding my labrador Iams for large breed for 4 years. I usually buy the large bag at Costco. I store it in a tight sealed container that I clean with every new bag. I have noticed (6 to 8 months) with the last big bag and now this big bag that halfway through my labrador doesn't want to eat it. I have chopped up plain broiled chicken breast and mix it in to entice her (it is a small amount). Usually this does the trick. This time, she refuses to eat it. She smells the food and walks away. So again I put some chicken in it. Nope! She refuses to eat it. I offered her a plain snack bone and put it on top of the food and she refused to eat the snack bone. I put another snack bone to the side of her bowl away from her food and she ate it. I then took the snack bone off her food and put it to the side and she ate it.

I have also noticed blood in her stool a few times, she is licking her paws and she is panting all the time. So I am going to watch and see if she gets better when I feed her some plain rice and broiled chicken breast. I will also take her in to the vet to see if anything else is going on. I put this review out there just in case other dog owners are having the same issue. These reviews help keep our animals safe and healthy.

My dog is 4 years old and I started a Walmart subscription last year for Iams Proactive Health Lamb and Rice canned & Iams Proactive Health Chicken and Rice canned. It started out alright for a few months aside from Walmart subscriptions being a late by a week or 2 every month and are completely incompetent at every step of every order. No exaggeration. Anyway, 2-3 months ago and possibly before then I started noticing her food began smell like it's rotting if she didn't eat all of it by bedtime. 5-6 hours. I thought it was just the summer heat but it was also happening just as fast inside where central air is set to 68 degrees Celsius.

This month she refuses to eat it at all. If I add topper, she hovers the topper and doesn't touch the Iams at all. Last month I had to add topper to eat the Iams. Last month I threw out 18 cans worth of rotting food. (She usually eats 4-5 cans a day). Some cans were already starting stink after 3-4 hours. This month I wasted 10 cans and gave up on Iams completely. I'm no scientist but pretty sure if you can smell the food rotting 3-4 hours after opening the cancel it was probably already, no? My dog hasn't been as energetic as she has been the last 4-5 days. I'm not taking any more chances.

Bought 3 bags for my two huskies and partway through the first bag my older girl started getting loose stools then it would go away and come back again a week later, now my younger is occasionally getting sick, had stool.samples. Checked and blood work and vet says they are fine, so it's gotta be the food, switched to another today.

What I wrote regarding a cancelled order: How can you not provide information about how long it takes a cancelled order to process. You say it is up to my bank. That is a horrible answer. Second - you do not make clear that if you cancel your order you do not refund the amount directly - but offer to keep my 30.00 for next time. If I do not want to do this - you can send me a paper check like it’s 1935.

Don't get this same problem everyone else is having. My poor girl had horrible diarrhea and was super lethargic. We bought it because Purina had so many bad things said about it. Purina didn't do what Iams did to my dog. Plus it had meat by-product in it.

All of my dogs has always been healthy. Never had an issue with anything, up until we started to feed them IAMS, we wake up this morning and found our male husky deceased, my wife has had this dog ever since he was born and so to have to tell her that her bestfriend is gone over some dog food, I can't, and to find reviews way back in 2020 and this brand hasn't even went in to recall and it's still hurting animals, I will never purchase IAMS again and I don't recommend anyone else to.

Since weening our boy off Purim’s puppy food and transitioning to Iams large breed we have noticed numerous alarming and worrisome changes and after 2 vet visits and now seeing these reviews, we are swapping his dog food!!! We originally thought he wasn’t feeling well or was sad and not himself because 2 family members were traveling and he was “missing” them. (Myself and my daughter) Upon our return, however he seemed to still not feel well.

I took him to the vet for vomiting and not eating. Negative tests and the vet thought maybe he ate something he shouldn’t have. However, this dog is well trained, crated when no one is home (which is only Sunday AM for about 2-3 hours otherwise someone is always home) he knows very well he’s not allowed to eat anything unless it’s given to him. He is super good about it and listens extremely well. We also have a camera for when he is home alone and we watch him when he’s in his crate. We talk to him through it and all so he knows how loved he is.

Anyway, since starting Iams, his whole personality has changed, he’s gassy, SUPER gassy and it smell horrendous. LIKE ROTTING SKUNK or worse. It’s absolutely horrible!!! Now, I know boxers are gassy and have smelly gas, but THIS IS DIFFERENT. It’s not at all his normal. His stools are not solid anymore and also smell terrible. Again, not his normal BMs. I have also noticed he has what looks like blood as well when he has a BM. To add, my boy has been licking his paws relentlessly which is 100% out of character for him.

On google I had researched which foods were best for boxers prior to swapping him from his puppy chow to adult food & Iams was highly recommended, which was why we made the change to this particular brand. We just had to rush him to the vet again, a HUGE vet expense due to him limping and having muscle weekends specifically in hind right leg. He had a fever and was panting and having difficulty breathing. This is a 2 year old pup that loves going on walks/hikes (although hikes have been on pause for over a year because I broke my tibia), but he, previous to starting the Iams diet, walks for 2-3 miles daily and within weeks of starting this Iams dog food he rarely ever wants to move and I know something’s not right.

It wasn’t until I researched the gas issue that I’m seeing all the other issues and am quickly realizing that ALL OF HIS SYMPTOMS are as most of you describe. I am TERRIFIED! This boy is my baby. He’s my support dog and I can’t live without him. His food will be swapped. I’ll give a raw diet and slowly integrate a new kibble. The vet put him on anti inflammatory meds, but I’m calling them tomorrow for guidance! Iams you have to listen, something is wrong with your kibble. Money can’t be the bottom line. These babies are our babies and most fur parents I know truly love their pet. I am one of those loving fur moms and I need you to listen. There is something wrong with your formula. Please take it off the shelf. My boy has never had any health issues and is just barely 2 years old Please listen! FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG AND FIX IT! Please!!!!

I have fed my Dobermans Iams healthy weight dry dog food for 2 1/2 years. One of my Dobermans started puking randomly. He also was reluctantly eating the kibble for about a month. I also mixed 1/2 can of royal canin digestive care. About 3 weeks ago his brother suddenly got extreme diarrhea at 1:00 in the morning. Took him to the vet and they found absolutely nothing wrong with him. Three days later they both had severe diarrhea. Even though they were on diarrhea meds from the vet.

I pulled the Iams and only fed them the royal canin digestive care canned. Diarrhea stopped in both dogs after 2 feedings Of canned only. I fed them canned only for 5 days. No puking, no diarrhea. Started to introduce iams back in slowly. Only a 1/2 cup iams dry with royal canin canned. 3 hours later diarrhea in both. Took them back off. Tried again 2 days later with 1/4 cup of iams in morning. Both had diarrhea by the end of the day with severe gas. Needless to say I am switching to another brand of dry dog food. I don’t know if it was just the 2 bags I had bought or what but I can’t take anymore chances with iams.
