More About Pets

Just like the friendly pet store at the mall, the Internet is not the place to buy a dog. You have next to no legal protection and you are supporting the cruel and inhumane puppy mill industry.

Pat of Wyckoff, NJ August 24, 2008

Purchased a boxer from their website from one of their advertisers only to find out the dog was unfit to sell. Instead of paying only 1200.00 plus 350.00 for shipping. The dog has cost me hundreds of dollarst o keep it alive and fit

Would like a full refund for the dog and future payments for the liver tests he requires monthly.

I had gone onto this website www.englishbullpup.com and picked out my puppy (after doing my research of course). I picked my puppy... It was an English Bulldog named Roszi. I paid through Paypal and was in close contact with Pricila. Roszi was flying in from Georgia. When we picked her up at the airport, it was not her. The puppy that was delivered belonged to another couple out in the mid-west. The breeder (Pricilla) mixed up the puppies. My puppy was nowin another family's home. The breeder refused to compensate anything due to this mix up. I paid 4,000 for this puppy (the one I chose online). The breeder told me to ship her back. Obviously she did not have the best interest of the puppy in mind. Not only did she send the wrong puppy, but she also mixed up the paper work. I do not have the medical records, contract (I have the other family's contract) nor the AKC papers. I need the AKC papers in order to file insure my puppy. I spoke to Pricillia 2 weeks ago, and she still has not returned my phone calls or emails. I cannot believe a reputable breeder would act in such a matter. These people obviously do not have my puppy's best interest in mind.

Not able to insure or register my AKC puppy.

My daughter went to a breeder website to look for a Yorkshire Terrier and e-mailed the breeder to see if he had any more puppies. He said they were all sold, but one of his former customers had puppies that she wanted to send back to the states from Africa. She asked for 200.00 to ship them and then another 300.00 for a crate to ship them in. I start getting very suspicious and looked on a scam site, and there it was--the exact same dog scam. They make it sound so legitimate, and she made her self sound like a Christian lady who just wanted her dogs to have a good home. We were the perfect suckers.

I am out of 300.00, and my daughter's trust in people is shattered.

My sister and I purchased a puppy through this kennel, Smeraglia Kennel, Robertsdale, Ala. We unfortunately listened to this person Sherri and trusted her. If you check out her web site you will see that she presents everything very nice, her web page is TeddyBearSchnoodles.com. We were under the impression that we were going to pick up at the airport a well ajusted, healthy 8 week old puppy.

The evening we picked him up he was exhausted, so we did not really start becoming aware of his behavior till the next morning. A day after he arrived Piper started coughing and having trouble breathing. We took him to our Vet, and had a complete physical done on him. Piper is being treated for the following medical problems, kennel cough, a parasite in his intestines. In addition we found out that he was and had been eating his feces, so we have him on deter, and try to catch him after he uses the bathroom to keep him from eating it. The problem is that he is so quick that sometimes we can't catch him in time, and he will continue to stay sick with parasites and worms.

When you try to pet him he will bite, not just mouth but to the point that he is leaving punctures that bleed. I have spoken to our vet and several SPCA's. Piper is showing direct signs of being neglected, under weight, agressive biter from teasing, and was not able to receive the proper training usually from the mom due to a large litter of 10 puppies, four of hers and six from another.

Years ago pet shops ran puppy mills. Even though she may show off her web site and tell her prespective buyers it does not mean that it is true. My sister and I are victims, but this little puppy suffered the worse.

I was interested in purchasing 2 silver Pugs from Linda Kapsa aka LKK Pugs. We emailed back and forth for a few weeks and then I spoke to her on the phone. She was full of information and seemed to be an honest breeder. I sent her a deposit of 200 and she told me that she would have silver Pug puppies available this summer. I called her again in June and she said that she was expecting litters of Pug puppies very soon and that I would be getting my Pugs in Septemember.

The first week of September I called several times and left messages and have not gotten any response back. It seems that I will not be getting my 200 back or my Pug puppies that were promised to me. I have 3 children who were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their Pug puppies and I explained to them that this is another lesson in life learned.

We purchased a puppy through anypets 5 weeks ago. There was a contract stating that we take the puppy to the vets 2 days after delivery. We did because he was infested with fleas.witht he total of 1189.00 for the dog there was suppose to be a health certificate of all his first shots when he was born. 5 weeks alater we still havent received the health certificate which we paid 35.00.many phone calls later we are getting the run around that there might not be any records of his first shots. We now find out our dog has giardia and hookworm. One is from the mother and one is from dirty water.

Our dog may be ill because he hasnt had his first shot. We have no idea and have no information on our dog. We have already spent over 200.00 on meds for his girdia and hookworm. If he had his first shot he wouldnt have gotten these things.

My fiance and I spent 2000 to purchase what we understood would be a happy, healthy bulldog. Within 48 hours of receiving our puppy, he was diagnosed with kennel cough. A week later his condition had deteriorated into pneumonia and he was on the verge of death. Our puppy, Jack, had to be hospitalized for 6 days and we received a bill totaling over 5000. We immediately contacted Evan Q, the owner of Miniature Bulldogs Inc. and were assured by him that we should keep Jack hospitalized for as long as possible -- even though we were advised by our veterinarian that his chances for survival were slim. We relied on Evan's statements and took ever effort possible to save our puppy's life -- incurring an enormous bill in the process.

Thankfully, after 6 horrific days and nights in the hospital, Jack took a turn for the better and we were able to bring him home. Unfortunately, on the day that payment was actually due, Evan blatantly refused to pay the bills and told us that Jack's sickness was a result of our negligence even though Jack had been declared unfit for sale. We are in the process of instituting legal action against Mr. Q. In this process, we have discovered that he operates several shelter companies in order to give his business an air of legitimacy. He operates several breeding websites under different names -- although he and the parent company, Miniature Bulldogs, Inc. are the true operators.
