I switched my cat to Nutro Natural dry cat food about two weeks ago, and have only put a few morsels a day with her previous food. She has thrown up four times since. My Aunt's cat was severely sick recently, throwing up, diarrhea, and lethargic, and she has been feeding her cat the same food. Something is wrong with this food, as my cat has NEVER gotten sick from switching food.

PET FOOD PRODUCT SAFETY ALLIANCE DID TESTS ON TWO SAMPLES OF NUTRO FOOD AND POSTED ON AUGUST 14th, 2008. THE RESULTS WERE HIGH LEVELS OF COPPER AND ZINC. The symptoms are consistent with the majority of those reported by consumers suspecting problems believed to be associated with feeding Nutro dry dog food.

While Nutro may view a shiny coat as desirable on sick, dead or dying pets - whether well founded or not - the Pet Food Products Safety Alliance does not share that view There is no way to know which dogs will be affected immediately and or how long it will take for others to be affected. It's playing russian roulette with your animals lives by using Nutro.

Our 19 lb. Westie has been on Nutro Max Beef Meal & Rice for years and never suffered ANY of the described symptoms. He is now on Nutro Max Senior variety of kibble and loves it. He's a healthy 8.5 years old...active...playful... Something doesn't add up here. If the food is contaminated it should affect all dogs similarly.

I have left a couple of messages on here about losing my 3 dogs to mitral valve prolapse, pancreatitis and adrenal insufficiency. My 4th dog, a 6 year old pom, is losing the battle to mitral valve. After the news of the possible zinc and copper poisoning in Nutro dog food, I took my 2 year old yellow lab in for a physical. I took him to a specialist who had not treated by other 4 dogs. Sure enough, the lab work and tests shows heart problems and was positive for pancreatitis!

He has lost 25 lbs, the pigment in his ears and belly has turned black and the vet said he looks like an old man. He is dying. I was feeding him Nutro Max large breed puppy then Max large breed adult (purple), Nutro cans, biscuits and treats. I have had my home checked for mold, bacteria and carbon monoxide and nothing was found. I also had my cats and birds checked, and they are fine. My husband, daughter, grandson and I all had physicals and we are fine. The only thing all 5 dogs had in common was the Nutro dry food, cans, treats and biscuits.

As of today, vet bills over 2500, 3 dead dogs, two dying from heart, pancreas and liver problems.

My 7 year old rottie, Cagney likes Nutro dog food. She has been eating it without any problem for the last 4 months. I opened a new bag last Thursday. I started feeding it to her Friday morning. By Sunday, she started having explosive diarrhea. Since then, she has no control of her bowels and is going to the bathroom in the house 1-2 times a day. I also noticed she wasn't eating all her food. I thought it was because she wasn't feeling good. It didn't worry me too much.

Yesterday, I realized she didn't eat at all. I called our local pet store to see if they heard similar stories. They did! They said they have been trying to get people to switch to a different brand of dog food. Yet, it wasn't mentioned to me when I bought a new bag of food. Cags has a vet appt. tomorrow morning. I hope Cagney isn't as bad off as some of the other dogs I have been reading about.
